You can get the best fit with these if you're a big guy (I wear 36x34L) and looking for a tapered leg look that's not too slim. It has been a few years since I went from the 541 to the 502 to now the 531, which are far and away my favorites.
Sadly I do not know the 502, but the athletic slim 531 are tapered, which makes the fit at the ankles feel close fitting.
The Levi's jeans are not supposed to be washed and if you do, then you should only
The clothes on my hanger do not need to be zipped or buttoned.

There should be a separate rating for each pair, style, and color. So I'm going to give the 531 a five star rating. The back seems to be a priority for the manufacturer because the designer seems to care Both pockets are stitched in the same way. There are no veering off of the pockets in the back of all three pairs I have purchased. There have been a lot of times when pants have poorly stitched back pockets that I have returned. An example would be a pocket that is too high or too low in relation to the other pocket. In some cases, one or both pockets moved too far away or one pocket was close to the stitching and another was far from it. The situation so far has been fine. There is no doubt that each of the three pairs has been stitched by My expectation was that this Far Away color would look like the Cali Navi in black. There is just a little bit of room down the leg of these pants. On the other hand, it's perfect for the waist. While these pants still have a better fit than the Levi's 541 fit, they have a more tapered look than those pants.
