This jacket was purchased by my son in a large, however, he is taller (about 5'10"), and I would recommend that you go to an Orvis store and try it on for yourself.

At the Barbour outlet (I went to one), I was able to choose my jacket for a very good price. This jacket is no longer made in England, but I got it at a very good price. It is made in the merry old U. S. , in contrast to other models made there. It was very difficult to find any difference in construction, materials, or quality. I am very pleased with it.
It was delivered by the seller in a timely manner due to the fact that it came from England at the time. There's one thing to remember, however you should always double check your size. I had a Beaufort Lightweight (no longer made) for a long time and it fitted generously. Due to the size of a medium in the Ashby, I returned it and had to shop elsewhere because time did not allow. Returns were processed promptly, but not including shipping, so my mistake was costly in terms of time and shipping.
Perfect blend of classic style without being baggy. Typically I wear a 40R in suit jackets, so I had no problems fitting into the medium Ashby. My sweater can be layered beneath the sleeve, because the sleeves are long. It takes 6 ft 1 in to be 6 ft tall and 150 lbs to be me. The seller was pleasant to deal with and was able to resolve the small issue quickly. It took less than 24 hours for the package to be shipped from.
I love it in the rain as well as the fit is awesome.
