The tunnels are soft rubber-like and hurt not, the plugs are easy to cut and do not hurt, and then the tappers are acrylic plastic. The sizes are packaged individually and labeled by size. There's no question they're extremely thin and flimsy, like half of the thickness of a normal acrylic tunnel. The thin material of your ears makes it easier for skin to grow onto them when you're stretching them. They're sensitive and essentially open wounds as you stretch your ears. In my case I would not choose this kit because I prefer tunnels and would not use it if I were stretching up rather than down.
