I wanted to wear mine at the beach, but they don't hold up well if you walk out of water for an extended period. It does not take long for toenails to wear through the top material.
There's no reason for it not to work. Kayaking is the main reason I use them.
I would definitely recommend it... but please note your normal fit patterns. I have a shoe size 10 on my foot. It is okay to wear a 5, but you are always better off wearing an 11. My shoes fit perfect from day one without any adjustments or pain, and I feel very comfortable in any weather, even when they are The 10 would have been returned to me had I gone for those. It would be too tight if you used 5s.

bought these because I live in a wet climate and needed some shoes that were quick to slip on and would have a better grip during wet weather I was looking for something that would work flawlessly and that was just what I got. I like how they fit well and are comfortable. My personal problem with these shoes, and the reason I will likely be switching to another brand/style soon, is that the tongue is not connected to the shoe on the sides, thus every time I wear them, I am forced to adjust it. Even though it may not be a serious issue, and may not seem to be a huge deal to most people, to me this appears to be a design flaw with this shoe. Even so, a rating of 4/5 from someone planning on replacing them is a pretty good indication that they're actually pretty good for what they are. In my opinion, skip these if you don't want to adjust the tongue every time you put your shoes on.

Since I knew that my cheap water shoes from the local grocery store weren't going to cut the sharp rocks and coral, I took these along to walk the shallow areas of the coral reefs. When you are actually wearing higher quality water shoes in water, the difference in feel is like night and day. Despite their inexperience, these shoes helped save me from bruises and cuts, and they allowed me to run twice as long as my barefoot partner, who only made it a few feet before deciding to stay where he was. It seemed to be quite comfortable and aired out relatively well as well while walking on dry land.
Even though these footwear were comfortable once on the feet, the process of putting them on was very challenging.
