Questions & Answers
There's nothing wrong with their toes I am astonished at the generous nature of the box. The kind of generosity I mean is incredible. A REI's Altra section is the best place to try them on when in doubt
It's great for everyday use, they're comfy and easy to wear, but they won't appeal to everyone.
It is both a good shoe, but the Escalante has a bit more cushion and is best used for short runs. Approximately 3 miles. Using Solstice XT shoes for cross training and crossfit is a great choice, I even prefer them to my Nano shoes. Runs are part of my workout and I use Escalante's when the need arises.
I would say yes and no. This is definitely a zero drop shoe, and it has a wide toe box. Even so, I wouldn't say this shoe is minimalist since the cushion and structure are present.
Selected User Reviews For ALTRA Men's AL0A4PE7 Solstice XT Cross Training Shoe
Since I have owned three pairs of the original Solstice, I know how much I love it. Solstice XT is a brand new version that I was extremely excited to see. Due to the nature of the product, I can't recommend it Having a wide toe box makes Altra shoes so comfortable that they are loved by many people An envelope. They were lightweight, minimal, and very comfortable running shoes with the original Solstice model. There has been an enormous increase in weight for the new Solstice XT, but it is less minimal and Upon stepping into the I would have preferred a larger, more spacious box. As with my other 3 pairs of Solstice, the space isn't as spacious as it is in my other two pairs. During the middle of the century There is a tighter fit around the foot. In the sole, there is more thickness. This version of the shoe just seems to have increased the thickness of the sole without thinking of other areas of the shoe, leaving me with less room for my same foot overall compared with the previous understand that the original Solstice and the XT version are for slightly different purposes, with the XT being more of a cross training shoe, but on the Altra website description it says that the shoe was All things considered, if you don't have the original Solstice and are seeking a shoe that has the same quality as Nike or other brands, it is worth considering. The toe area is wider, and the shoe is built quite well There is a wide selection of colors to choose from, and the box is more compact than most other brands. It's unfortunate but I cannot give it more than 3 stars since I'm comparing this shoe with other Altras I've owned in the past. Altra's have just taken a step back for what many people bought the shoes for in the first place. I highly recommend going with the original Solstice, which is available on Amazon for a lot less money.
In spite of the fact that many reviews suggest these require more cushion, a more flexible sole, a higher stack height, or they are not comfortable for running, that is not what they This is a responsive shoe that is perfect for gym workouts. If you work out and perform lifts but might also do sled pushes and pulls, box jumps, burpees, and stair climbing, this is the shoe for you. Ups, that is the purpose of this. If the power lifter does not participate in those other activities in the same workout, this shoe should not be selected since it has a very firm sole for heavy squats/deadlifts. After you workout, this is also not the shoe you should use if you wish to run multiple miles. In these, you can certainly run sprints or climb stairs, but for me, I wouldn't choose to start a treadmill workout in them. It would be great if I had a pair of running shoes to bring with me. I consider these to be the closest bike to my Escalante Racer from a fit perspective. As for the upper, it is very light and, I find, it does not have any hotspots. The back of the shoe is tight against the achilles and heel. It will be specific to you how you adjust that, and you might need to alter your lacing strategy. As well, I found that the same size I wear in my Escalante and Escalante Racer fit well in.
I would get rid of the internal band at the forefoot of this shoe and it would be perfect. It is a major design flaw that constricts the spread of the foot, which goes against the ethos I liked the soles and the density of the cushion stack, and the fit was great, but that internal band prevented me from wearing them.
Could this be In the beginning, it was a little rough. It took a bit of time to "break in" the shoes, but once I did, it felt great. Even so, there were some issues left unresolved. As a matter of fact, it doesn't feel like the high quality I'm used to from Altra. A gap between the tongue and shoe would sometimes appear in the shoe, as if the tongue binds at times. Just a few days ago, the sole of the shoe started separating from its upper. I want to make it While I did wear these shoes every day, I worked in an office, so I did not put excessive mileage on them. My trail shoes have worn down the treads without a problem (I'm used to the trail shoes). My hope is that these are anomalies, as I really like this brand. I tell everyone I know about it. Approximately 3 days after wearing these shoes, the sole started to separate and I felt the quality had dropped considerably compared to what I've come to expect from Altras. I would rate this shoe cautiously because of the lower quality.
The overall impression I get is unimpressive. It's not that I hate them, but they seem oddly tight for a brand like Altra, which boasts a There doesn't appear to be much space between them, and the plastic on the side and the seam inside make them slightly uncomfortable. This model is nice because the rubber bottom is more durable, ensuring that they will last longer and will have However, I am not satisfied with that. The Altra brands listed here are not the ones I would recommend.
Having tried cross trainer shoes from a variety of vendors and not being happy, I decided to give them a go. I was recommended this brand by my friend, and after doing some research, I gave it a try. For more than two decades I have been an athlete, and these cross trainers are by far the best I've ever owned. It is incredibly comfortable, but is also breathable and cool. I like how they're not too big or too thin, but just right.
Other reviews describe them as being a little snug over the top of the forefoot, but they did not look great enough I wear these with thin socks and have been very pleased with them. Although they stretched out over time, they are still very comfortable. Our feet just tend to be wider, and/or thicker, for some reason. Altra is to be commended on this issue so those who are disappointed should take this into account. There is a possibility that an average person's foot may move a lot if the shoe is too big in that area. In contrast to a regular running shoe, this is a training shoe designed for more lateral movement. An unsecure foot must be prevented from moving. This can't be faulted on Altra's part too much.
