It didn't take long for the shoes to start falling apart at the con. Since we had hot glue handy, we were able to fix the problem quickly. The shoes I made for Konan were completely secured with hot glue (we used them for pain). Using hot glue to secure fabric and foam before using the shoes is a good idea since the bond between those materials is very strong. It wasn't a problem to stitch the coverups into place with a quick stitch since they were too big. Making your own is something you have to make here, and you pay for that time saved. It was a little big for me, I normally wear a size 8 women's. I ordered a men's 8 since they did not have a size 5, so I did not have to use extra straps. There is a little bit of a squeezing sensation when you put your foot in the shoes, as the white material that goes over the shoe is a little tighter than I expected however, anyone with normal to wide calves will need to stretch it out. In addition, the black part around the leg is a little tight, so the white would go over it. The fact that both black and white fabric are zip up your leg should serve as a reminder. The way they look and the way they fit me are both really nice, for me.

The shoe functions as it should and looks the way it should. Unfortunately, the white part is too loose and doesn't reach all the way down to the knee. I had to sew it (good thing I know how to) to be tighter, and since it's not a stretchy fabric, it was difficult to get it both right. There should be Velcro on the bottom to adjust the tightness based on the leg width.
