Questions & Answers

Is it possible for me to purchase these shoes the next day?

These kicka$$ kicka$$ kicka$$ kicka$$ kicka$$ kicka$$ kicka The new Matt 5 running shoes have a lot of buzz around them right now.

These appear to be running shoes; are they comfortable for walking only?

For almost a year, I've been wearing them while walking. When I was 270 pounds, I began walking a few hundred yards per day, and by the fall, I was walking 6-miles per day. Every day, I walk 8 miles! I'm down to 190 pounds, and my Asics Venture 5s are starting to show their age. I normally wear orthotics, but I've never put them in the asics, and my feet are fine! As a side note, I bought some new balance on sale a few weeks ago, and my feet started hurting right away! I'm going to buy another pair of asics venture5s today!

I just got my Asics Gel Venture 5 shoes in the mail. I'm a size 9 1/2 D. I tried them on and found them to be quite narrow. Do Asics shoes come in a wide range of sizes? Thanks. ?

They ARE a little tight. I wanted a wider size, and according to the shoe size chart link, I needed a 2E Ultrawide, not a 4E Ultrawide, but Amazon Zappo's only has the 'normal' Narrow and 4E Ultrawides in stock. @WayneM, there is no option for a 'half size larger'; apparently, they don't care what people buy and don't bother to restock. I ordered the D'medium,' which is actually quite NARROW. The shoes arrived, and I had to stretch the laces all the way out to get them to fit. Nonetheless, they appeal to me - They're light, with a sturdy sole. Size 10 is all that is written on the box. 5 and a letter with no width. The width letter is also missing from the shoe's label. The shoe itself is good, but the sizing isn't ideal. br>So, in order to avoid confusion and returns, Zappo's / Amazon needs to stock the medium wides. Also, start properly labeling your shoes.

What exactly does the letter 4E stand for?

It refers to a shoe's width. If the size is preceded by the letter 4E, it is an extra wide shoe; for example, an 11 4E is a size 11 extra wide shoe.br>Narrow: Standard: Dbr>Wide: 2Ebr>Extra Wide: 4Ebr>Standard: Dbr>Wide: 2Ebr>Extra Wide: 4Ebr>Standard: Dbr>Standard: Dbr>

For the price, this is an excellent trail running shoe, but it "falls flat" on the road
4/5

To begin with, these are first and foremost trail shoes. Look for something else if you do a lot of street running. br>br>Second: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative The shoe is fantastic. I couldn't believe how good they were for the price I paid. Excellent work. br>br>I run a 10k on the road every day, and after reading numerous reviews on this site and others about these shoes and numerous people who use them for road running, I decided to bite. I'm on a budget, and street shoes for less than a hundred dollars are hard to come by this time of year. I can't recommend these for street running after coming from a light weight street running shoe. I know they're a trail running or "multi surface running shoe," but after seeing how many people use them on the road, I decided to give them a try. br>br>So, why don't I like them for street running? First and foremost, there is the issue of weight. These are hefty, at least twice as heavy as my previous shoe, and the first week of break-in was excruciating. br>br>I recently took my dogs on some extremely steep local trails (I live in the very hilly Finger Lakes region of New York), and these shoes are AMAZING trail shoes. I felt unstoppable as I raced through a narrow, tree-, rock-, and root-infested trail that curved this way and that with almost every step. My grip felt like I was wearing cleats. Despite the speed, I could turn on a dime, using trees to propel my momentum through the curves, and I didn't feel a thing beneath my feet, despite the various terrain types I was covering (from rocky to slipper needle covered loose dirt). br>br>I knocked a star off for personal reasons, and it's a reason that the shoe wasn't designed for, so I'm not sure it's even fair. I only did it because so many others claimed to have had a fantastic road running experience, and I believe they fell short. br>br>In terms of trail running: Is it possible to find a pair of shoes that are better? Yes. I don't think you'll be able to find them for less than this. These are the shoes to get if you're on a budget and want to run trails. br>br>Finally, as I mentioned earlier, the fit was excellent.

The quality is mediocre
4/5

To begin, let me state that I adore these shoes. I'm not sure what it is, but the fit and feel on my feet is absolutely perfect; in the last 12 months, I've hiked, ran, and walked nearly 1000 miles and have been pleasantly surprised by how comfortable my feet have been. br>br>Having said that, they are beginning to show signs of their age. The sole is starting to peel away in some places, and the interior fabric behind the ankle has ripped, causing foam to protrude and fall out. I went ahead and bought another pair because I adore them, but the construction quality could be a little better. Other (albeit less comfortable) shoes I've owned have lasted much longer with no problems.

It's ideal for large, difficult-to-reach areas
5/5

Thank you for your consideration. So far, these are the only shoes that fit my large, wide feet (with narrow ankles) comfortably. br>br>I use them for working out, walking, and just about everything else. They are suitable for use both in the summer and the winter. In most cases, I'm forced to use extra-large fonts. wide, but with these shoes, the standard widths (D) are comfortable – all you have to do is break them in for a day or two and they'll be perfect. br>br>That has been my experience, but I suppose everyone's feet are unique. Not everyone is blessed with a large, difficult-to-access backyard. Kindly accept my feet.

So far, everything has gone swimmingly
4/5

Ignore the negative reviews and give it a shot.   The first impression is excellent. It looks fantastic. There are no obvious flaws. It looks fantastic on you. I'm usually an EE width, and regular running shoes are too narrow for me, but these non-xtra wide shoes fit perfectly. In the strictest sense, these aren't running shows. I simply wanted a stylish, reasonably priced, and comfortable casual shoe. I think I've tracked them down. br>br>After reading the negative reviews, I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of them are from people who expect a $150 shoe for $50 and are angry at the world, then use this forum to vent their unjustified rage. Try them out for yourself and come back if necessary. Returns are free and shipping is available the next day. If you're in a rush, go to a shoe store first and figure out your size; they don't charge to try on shoes. br>br>If anything changes, I'll let you know.

After 53 miles of easy running, I developed a hole
3/5

For the past few years, I've been walking down the street. I keep track of how many miles a shoe lasts before I need to replace it. These were the shortest-distance shoes I'd ever worn! (It's a 97-mile journey! ) These only lasted 53 miles in total. Those miles are gentle, consisting of walking on paved roads in dry weather, always wearing Darn Tough socks, and switching shoes every day so that they are never worn on consecutive days. I ended up with a small hole near the Achilles tendon in the body of my right shoe. That's the first time I've ever done something like that. After that, walking into the building was extremely uncomfortable, and I had to call for a ride home today. br>br>The shoes I was wearing in between these and these were a pair of Sketchers that I had received as a gift. Not only were the memory foam soles more comfortable, but they also lasted longer. I ended up scheduling my long mileage days on days when I was supposed to wear the Sketchers because they were so much more comfortable. They have nearly 100 miles on them and still look new. (With the exception of a small hole, these Asics appear to be brand new. ) The outside of the shoes held up well)br>br>If you buy these shoes, be wary of the quality. Although the worn hole is difficult to photograph, I did my best to include a couple of images to demonstrate it. br>br>This was my first and only purchase from Asics.

My new ASICS aren't as comfortable as my old ASICS
3/5

My new ASICS aren't as comfortable as my old ASICS. There isn't much cushioning, in my opinion. My feet hurt for a week before I got used to them, despite the fact that I was breaking them in by walking 11 miles a day. The agony was unbearably excruciating. I'm not sure why I kept putting hems on my clothes. I got sole inserts, which reduced the pain from a ten to a three. They've become bearable now. I don't wear them very often, and I'm not planning on buying them again. I've never had a bad Amazon experience, but these shoes are a disaster.
