As a beginning, I think of this as a heavyweight tee shirt, with knit cuffs and bottom, rather than a sweatshirt. Hanes beefy ts are about the same thickness as the fabric on this shirt. That being said, I like it still. My favorite part of this outfit is that it fits very well, feels comfortable, and is well-made. The shirt is not going to provide as much warmth as a heavyweight tee shirt if you think you can live with that. As long as you live with it, it is a good shirt for the price.
