They do not, in fact. When doing knee strikes or kicks, the V cut on the sides compensates for increased hip mobility.
It's as if they're silky! Unlike other Muay Thai shorts, they don't have a high-gloss finish. It has a satin or semi-gloss sheen to it, in my opinion. They're silky smooth with a hint of gleam! I have the all-black pair, and they're my go-to training and sparring shorts.

I can still feel the bottom hem on my thigh, which is annoying (despite the fact that I can still kick freely). I just don't like the feeling of the bottom hem grabbing at my skin as I kick, etc. br>If you don't mind that, they're pretty good workout shorts. br>I'm a 32-year-old woman with a 32-year-old boyfriend. A medium might work, but I'd rather they be a little loose like the authentic ones because the drawstring takes up the slack. 33" waist and the Large are generous in the waist; a medium might work, but I'd rather they be a little loose like the authentic ones because the drawstring takes up the slack.
These shorts give me a lot of room to move around. My only criticism is that Muay Thai shorts in general are not very nice. Although these have a narrower waistband than traditional Muay Thai shorts, I'd still like to find a pair with a waistband that is no taller than a regular pair of shorts. However, this could simply be a matter of personal taste! So there's nothing wrong with Anthem or the way these shorts were designed and made. They're great MT shorts at a great price, and they're a great deal!.
I usually work out with a heavy bag in standard Muay Thai shorts. They felt constrictive when performing kicks, however, due to their length. Because of the shorter length and side slits, these Anthem shorts are ideal for kickboxing; they fit well and are of high quality. I'm 5'7", 145 pounds, and have a 30 waist, and I bought the medium size and am pleased with the fit. I could have gone with a small, but I think the length would have been too short; however, these shorts are a good value, and I like the understated design. Anthem's 50/50 Muay Thai shorts were also on my shopping list. The only difference is that the 50/50 shorts are made of a softer material. But they're both fantastic, and I strongly suggest them.
The color is a little lighter in person than it appears in the photo. These appear to be in good condition. The elastic waistband is very wide and left marks on my belly after I wore them in a kickboxing class. They had a habit of riding up around my hips as well. Plus, the green I ordered isn't exactly what I expected - The color is more of a yellow or a very light lime color.
These guys make some great shorts for a good price, and the fit is true to the size they claim. These are traditional Muay Thai shorts, not MMA shorts, and they don't go all the way to your knees. They have a generous slit on the side and plenty of room for large thighs. br>I can't say enough good things about them. I purchased two pairs and plan to purchase more in the future.
These shorts are great for boxing or running. They're fine when I'm doing low kicks that are acceptable for body kicks, but they bind a little when I need to stretch for a head kick or pull my legs together for a butterfly guard. Even so, they're still preferable to regular workout shorts. Try the 50/50 shorts, which are similar to the previous set of anthem shorts I purchased. They have a much higher thigh cut than I do, and they never bind on me!.
Runs big. Excellent craftsmanship. Stitches are well done. Runs big. Despite the fact that I have long legs, these are extremely roomy. I would purchase this item again, but in a smaller size.
