It's a tight fit because my head is quite large. Still comfortable and long-lasting, but if you don't like a tight fit, it might not be for you.
It is not sewn into place - To make the cuff, you must fold it up. I don't fold it up because I think the cuff is too tight (it hurts my ears when I wear glasses). Aside from that, it's light and welcoming! Love it.
Although the knit has a lot of give, I'm not sure it would fit an x-small. Very well suited for a large head. After several months of wearing it, my hat is almost too big. I'm a petite woman with a 22-inch head circumference who usually wears small-sized clothing. Hats in the medium size range.
Pomona, California is written on the tag. These are great for keeping warm and light in the winter.

Merino wool beanies have never looked so good. After discovering that nothing else worked as well for keeping my head warm while working, I switched to merino wool beanies a couple of years ago. The only issues I had were that 1) Merino Wool beanies are expensive for 100% merino wool or 2) Cheap merino wool beanies are ITCHY. br>br>Before this one, my go-to Merino Wool beanie was made by Rich Cotton brand, and I noticed that whenever I started doing any type of serious work, I'd start itching and scratching constantly after a short time. I'd had enough and went on the hunt for another Merino Wool beanie that wouldn't make me red and itchy. I had almost given up hope of finding something inexpensive and was about to give in and spend the money on something more expensive that I knew would work for me. Meriwool Merino Wool Beanies br>br>Enter Meriwool Merino Wool Beanies br>br> I saw the price and at first I was extremely skeptical of it. I was worried I would get burned again and it would be itchy or not 100% wool. Still, it was worth the risk because I could return it if it didn't meet my expectations, and I knew it would work for me as soon as I took it out of the box. br>br>You may need to stretch it slightly to fit your head, but don't worry; it will stretch. DO NOT overstretch it. It will conform to you without issue with normal wear. This thing is extremely comfortable and as far as I can tell it is 100% wool (I can not vouch for it being Merino but at some point you just have to trust a br>br>At this price, I am confident that you will not find a better beanie than this one. Keep in mind that it's a medium to light weight beanie, so you may need to layer it or wear something thicker on extremely cold days, but for my climate, it'll be fine all year.
I decided to write a review after wearing it for the entire winter. I had a similar hat for 20 years that was finally falling apart, so I got this one to replace it. I was hoping for a skullcap fit, but it's too long and looks like an elf's hat. And I'm a big guy with a big head. Another problem is that it keeps riding up my neck for some reason. I have a shaved head, but even with head stubble that sticks to my head like Velcro after a day or two, this hat rides up and I have to keep pulling it down.
What happened here is a mystery to me. I already own a blue version of this cap and adore it, so I decided to purchase the purple version as well. It isn't the hat that was advertised. It's not the same size, doesn't have the same label, and it's extremely uncomfortable on me. I'm going to come back. I'd like to include a photograph, but for some reason that isn't possible.
It was advertised as seamless and had pictures of seamless products, but it was neither seamless nor as depicted. There are four large ill-advised areas on this page. seams (as seen in the photos) that result in four unwelcome peaks above the head. Compare the product that was delivered to the one that was shown and described on the website. It's not necessary to do so - It is possible to make good beanies that conform all the way around (as shown on the website). It's simply not true to call this seamless. Too bad: This could be a great beanie if it weren't for this major flaw (and the deception).
This is the third "wool" hat I've purchased recently on Amazon, and the first to meet (or even exceed) my expectations. Despite its claims, the first one was not actually wool, and the second one was extremely scratchy. This hat is very attractive; the blue is a deep hue that suggests quality. When I'm sleeping in a tent and the sun rises, I can pull the wool down over my face and eyes to keep warm. It fits my head perfectly and looks great with the brim folded up or simply pushed up. The wool is thin and light, but it's still warm enough to be a 3-season coat. Hiking hat for the season, or a winter hat for high-intensity activity.
My daughter received this hat as a gift. As a result, the following assessment is based on her personal experience. br>br>Migraines are a problem for my daughter. The pain is exacerbated by the scorching heat we're experiencing in the south. The air conditioning, on the other hand, is not much better. Her migraines are aggravated by it as well. It was becoming more difficult for her to cope with the discomfort, especially since she had become over-exposed to it. the- The over-the-counter medication was ineffective. It was clear that something needed to be done to bring her relief! She stepped outside the box, guided by spiritual wisdom, and decided to try on this Merino wool hat. It works! To do so, follow these steps: My daughter suffers from excruciating migraines whenever cold or heat settle in her head; the Merino wool hat protects her head from these extremes. As a result, you can avoid getting a migraine. And, just to be clear, the wool is neither scratchy nor hot. If she can wear it comfortably in the sweltering heat of the Deep South, this hat can be worn anywhere and in any climate! br>br>If you suffer from migraines, you must learn how to avoid flare-ups. This is a form of protection for my daughter. It's made a significant difference in her life - Migraines are no longer an issue! And considering she used to have to shut down her day and wait hours for relief, this is a huge improvement. br>br>From the standpoint of a mother, this Merino wool hat makes me happy. And there's a good reason for it: My daughter has regained her good health. I'm not trying to sell you on this as a cure-all for migraines. I'm just writing this for my daughter because it helps her avoid migraines, which is a blessing worth writing about! br>br>Many thanks to Meriwool for creating this hat.
This is a great hat for cold weather because it breathes well. I took it on my deployment to Northern Norway, where we were stationed in the tundra. I outperformed any of the issued gear I was given by a long shot. One of the most useful items I brought along.
