It appears that high wind is one of the reasons for the design, even though I haven't encountered it in practice. Despite its size, it is remarkably well made and is sturdy.
A golf umbrella is larger, but not quite as big as this one.

Yellow/orange is one of my favorite colors and I ordered the yellow/orange version because it's one of my favorites, but I was shocked by its size and weight. It is therefore necessary for me to return it since I am so petite. The quality of the product is good, but there are many other brands that are just as high quality and durable, as well as being lightweight and easy to carry. My 60$ umbrella arrived just in time for the holidays. I was thrilled! I noticed when I took the box out that it was broken as soon as I took it out. Isn't it true that it happens? With strong winds, rain and a show, the tent held up well. It has a life time warranty, which I like. It is an excellent umbrella which I highly recommend.
