10 year olds might not like it because it's so small. These are a good size for my 4 and 6 year old children (who have had them for a year just now). I love how cute and easy it is for kids to open and close on their own. But I would get one much bigger for a child of ten.
There is a manual opening mechanism on this
It is not possible to push a button. You can open the umbrella by sliding up the base. (I assume that what looks like a button is a wrist cord loop.
When the shutter is open, it makes a good shade, although I'm not familiar with UV rays enough to say it offers sun protection.

It's fantastic to have such an umbrella. I am so pleased with the colors and design of this jacket, and I hope I don't hear my 7 year old say, "just in case it rains," again in the near future. From the moment she got this umbrella, this has been her mantra. A couple of weeks ago, I was fed up and told her (in a grumpy tone), "It's not going to rain today!" "Well, when we got out of the store, what turned out to be the case? We are in the middle of a downpour. I am just smiling as my little girl opens up her umbrella and looks up at me. It seems likely that it will continue to accompany The world over. It is we. Let's do this.
As of now, it seems to be a well-made and durable product. . . . My little girl loves this and it is the perfect size for her (3 years old). The fact that it does not hang down like a bubble around her like some kids umbrellas does means she can see where she is walking easily and it is easy for her to open.
I'm in love with this umbrella. It is child size, so over 9 it may be too small if you need an umbrella over that size, you may need to purchase an alternate umbrella. There is sufficient coverage for my little one. She is six years old. In relation to her age, it is neither large nor oversized. This grip is textured and feels great in your hands. I have shown the colors as they are. This vibrant and girly dress is perfect for the summer. She finds it easy to operate and fits in her back pick without any problems.
The poncho can be used by her 6 year old sister in an emergency, but it doesn't provide the same protection for her backpack and her. I have walked to school in the wind a few times, and it hasn't turned inside out. A bit of the plastic on top is stuck on askance, and the metal at the top of the handle is My kids try to use it as a pretend cane/tap dance prop on a fairly frequent basis, but they can't use it as an impromptu tap dance prop or prop.
The gift I bought for my daughter for her birthday was loved by her. This costume is adorable and the perfect size. It is small, as some people mention, but it covers her just fine. There isn't room for a buddy under there, but it's not a problem. This one is very easy to open and close by her so that she can do it for The purchase has been a good one for me.
You can expect it to be a bit more durable than most toddler umbrellas, but do not expect it to be toddlerproof When you play with it like a toddler does, it's bound to break or pop out. Ours had a small hole and one of the ends was loose. This is not the cheapest quality by any means, but buy it with the understanding that it may not last for a very long time when a toddler holds it. Our little guy is still very pleased with it and I am more than thrilled that we own.
It was a big hit with my 4 year old daughter since the umbrella had a rainbow on Playing around inside the house was all she was doing. A brand new umbrella caught her attention as she turned it over, admiring its beauty. But the first night, before she went to sleep, one of the threads holding the umbrella fabric to one of the corner metals broke off, and we had to use a new thread to tie it back through the hole to make sure it stayed standing up. It's not sturdy at all, so that's the bottom line. In making an umbrella for a child, it is critical for the design to be such that durability is the number one priority. There is no play value in this product if you have a child who wants to turn his or her new umbrella a bit as part of the excitement of getting a brand.
This is durability. Everything seems to be going well so far. I am six years old This umbrella has been used every rainy day and her 5-year-old daughter has taken it to school every day that she has been able to use it. The umbrella has survived 5 months of abuse while she is out of sight, but it continues to open and close as it should. I'm not sure what kind of abuse she places on it while she is out of sight. It's obvious that she's not out in hurricane conditions, so the umbrella hasn't been tested with gale force winds, but it seems to work fine under normal rainy conditions.
