Questions & Answers

Will this be acceptable as a carry-on for major airlines?

For carry-on luggage on American Airlines, the maximum linear measurement is 45". So you add up the length, width, and height and see if it's less than 45". You can have a maximum of 36" in personal items.

Is it easy to scratch?

I've never seen luggage get scratched as easily as this. For the previous ten years, I had traveled three times a week on planes. This set of luggage was given to me as a retirement gift, and I'm so sorry I didn't choose something else and buy my own luggage. It is not something I would advise anyone to do.

Is this suitcase short enough (including the wheels and handle) to fit under 60 linear inches?

How could the answer be yes when it exceeds 62 linear inches, which on Untied carries a $200 penalty charge on top of the regular luggage fee, more than twice the cost of this luggage for a one-way flight? way trip? OVERALL Dimensions: 28 OVERALL Dimensions: 28 OVERALL Dimensions: 28 OVERALL Dimensions: 28 OVERALL Dimensions: 28 0" x 20. 0" x 12. 75" in length; weight: 5 lbs. = 63. Other airlines, such as United, limit passengers to 62" in length.

Is it possible to store all three items in the same place?

Yes, they fit perfectly inside each other for convenient storage. The luggage has plenty of room to fit everything you'll need for a week's vacation.

BEST VALUE FOR MONEY IN THIS PRICE RANGE! For both business and personal travel, I bought the Samsonite 28" Spinner
5/5

The suitcase looks great, and it's LARGE with multiple pockets (as seen in the photos). I'm aware that this will almost certainly be scratched after being loaded, unloaded, and tossed around by airport personnel. br>br>Another feature I enjoy is the zipper lock. Because it's made of plastic, I've heard that others have questioned its integrity. If it breaks, I'll just use one of my TSA-approved locks, I figure. I'm not giving this a low score because it's a nice-to-have rather than a requirement. It's expandable (shown below) and comes with a soft cover (shown as well). br>br> I paid $120 for the item. I don't believe there is a better suitcase on the market for the price of 00. It appears to be of good quality, has a good name, and will blend in with other business travelers (who have frequently paid 4-figure sums). 5 times the cost). br>br>I appreciate you taking the time to read and rate my comment!.

Great construction, clean appearance, and 60 flights later, it still looks great
4/5

It has a unique appearance, packs well, and is unlike any other luggage I've ever seen. We have six of these, including carry-on hard cases and large check-size bags, which I check when there is space at the gate. Because I get a free checked bag with my credit card, we always check the larger versions of this when we travel for long periods of time. The only problem we had on more than 60 flights last year was that the handle bars became bent due to the gorilla baggage handler. By hammering and straightening the assembly, I was able to open the case (which was easy to do because of the zippered liner) and make a repair. Overall, the carry-on hard case has enough room for four days' worth of clothing (haha). (If you're a good packer, it *can* be done. ) The wheels and case have held up well; there are scratches on the finish that are plastic rubbings that can be removed with a cleaner such as goof-off. off or just clean the windows with glass cleaner With a soft case on top, it's easy to carry around the airport, and the case fits easily down the seat aisle, rolling on all four wheels. br>br>[Update]: br>br> After four years and over 1000 flights, the system is still working perfectly. The wheels show signs of wear, but it otherwise appears to be in excellent condition. All of the zippers, locks, and handles are in good working order. br>br>Last year, I traveled for 20 weeks and took over 60 flights with this little case; for what it's worth, I'll pass along a few packing tips if anyone is interested.

- Pants, as well as other large items. To fit in the case, fold them into the largest possible area. The fewer the folds, the fewer the wrinkles.
- Socks, underwear, and undershirts, to name a few. Don't fold your paper into a tiny square. They should be layered on top of other clothing in a large and thin layer.
- Shirts for formal occasions: [Have cleaners use heavy starch, fold in thirds, layer alternating collars in zippered top section]
- I keep all of my dry toiletries in a clear sided pencil case, as well as all of my 3oz. in a freezer bag with a heavy-duty zipper
- To avoid spills and save space, keep toiletries and liquids in a soft carry-on bag. TSA process is made easier.
- Unpack as soon as possible after hanging clothes on hangers.
- Get a couple of zip-lock bags. Shrink bags with a lock. I don't use these to pack for a trip OUT; instead, I use them to store worn clothes for a return trip. It's incredible how much room they take up when packing to return home. By covering with a hotel pillow and lying on it to remove air, it's simple to 'vacuum' seal the bag.
- Bring a few plastic shopping bags (to wrap your shoes in) and some spill-resistant clothing. In California (where there are no bags at the grocery store! ), they are extremely useful. )
- I travel with a backpack that holds my iPad, MacBook, toiletries, and a few snacks, as well as a collapsible water bottle that I fill right before takeoff. I try to pack my shoes and at least a day's worth of clothes in case they misplace my hard case carry-on! br>br>I hope that helps, or that there's something in there that you can use to supplement what you're already doing.

At any price point, this is an incredible bag
5/5

This is a must-have item! I can't say enough good things about this Samsonite luggage line! I've taken them all over Brazil, Argentina, Singapore a dozen times, Bangkok at least once a month for the last two years, Ho Chi Min, all over Cambodia, and, of course, on trips around the US since purchasing them a year ago to replace my older luggage. br>br>I've thrown them on buses, dragged them from train to train, crammed them into more taxis and shuttles than I can count, and dragged them about a mile and a half down the road in the rain (they're surprisingly water resistant at the seams and expansion fabric). Despite the fact that it is not waterproof). br>br>Through it all, the handles have held up, despite the larger two weighing in at 70 lbs on a regular basis and the carry-on weighing in at 20 lbs. on weighing in at nearly 40 pounds on a regular basis (don't tell the airlines) That's a lot of weight for a carry-on bag. on to be) and the wheels are still in incredible condition. br>br>Given how much abuse they get, the bags also look fantastic! There are a few scratches here and there, and I've had a bag returned with a corner smashed in on several occasions. However, it always snaps back into place without a hitch, and the contents remain safe and secure. The locks are still in good working order. br>br> The handles are still easy to slide in and out of, and when locked into place, they feel solid. All of the zippers are in perfect working order. br>br>The only significant flaw I have with this set of bags is that there aren't enough handles. br>br>The carry-on bag is a great way to keep your belongings safe. Only the top of the bag has a handle. It's a little awkward to carry up and down the stairs because of this. It would be ideal if it had a side handle, like the other two. br>br>It would also be nice if there was some sort of grip on the bottom so that you could lift it up onto a rack or something similar with two hands. While most buyers will not use them as much as I do, they will want to put this bag on a stand in the hotel or lift one up onto a shelf in the terminal bus at some point. The largest bag, in particular, has a deceptive amount of storage space (I've loaded it to 104 lbs), and picking it up by the top handle and rotating wheel is easy. It's not all that enjoyable. br>br>However, that one caveat should not deter you from purchasing them. They've held up just as well as, if not better than, a variety of other, more expensive bags I've had, including other Samsonites. They've served me well, and I expect them to last at least another few years at my current rate of travel. For people who fly only a few times a year, like my parents, this bag may be the last one they ever need. br>br>UPDATE: February 17th, 2017: br>br>I've now bought three complete sets of this luggage, two in charcoal for myself and one in purple for my girlfriend. Except for our camping gear and bikes, I can fit everything we own into those nine bags. The only problem I've ever had was when someone tried to break into one of them and ripped the zipper out with a screwdriver or knife. As a result, one zipper clasp was completely missing, and several teeth on the zipper were badly bent. While I was in Malaysia for a few months, I sent it to one of their authorized dealers in Singapore, and they were able to repair it without issue. br>br>UPDATE: 01/11/2018 br>br>I ripped the seam of the inside liner on one medium bag after two years and just over 100 flights. However, I don't believe this was due to poor workmanship; rather, I had simply stuffed some clothes and camera equipment into the top section and zipped it shut. The opposite side was not completely empty, but it was close to it. I believe that the pressure of the gear against the fabric divider, combined with the lack of support from gear on the opposite side, caused the seam to give out at some point. It is currently being repaired. When I get it back, I'll post a picture.

This was a year ago when I purchased it
5/5

2/3/17. I . This was a year ago when I purchased it. 2/3/17. Every week, I travel. Yes, it's scratched, but so what? It effortlessly transports my clothes from one location to another. The wheels and the case are in perfect working order. Because it makes no difference, I haven't used the lock. They will search your luggage if they want to, and the baggage handlers will not want to steal anything. Last year, this bag accompanied me on a 72,000-mile journey. I'm writing this review because I'm going to buy the 20" and I'm hoping it'll be just as good. For three-day trips, I don't require the extra space. I attempted to upload photos but was unable to do so.
