The main reason I bought it was because of that. I am disappointed.
Skorts do not appear to be as depicted in the image. It was the bow on this skort that drew us to it. There was no bow on the item when it was received. It was a very disappointing experience for my kid. While the skort seems adequate by itself, there are many other cheaper options without a bow, which would be a better match for her school uniform. In the future, we plan to.
The skirt I received has flat pleats in the front and is solid black twill. Buying a size ahead and growing into it is easy because the jacket has a zipper and elastic/button extenders on the inside. I'm glad all went well. This item was not depicted in the photo because it was a black skirt with colorful designs.
However, the shorts have good features (zipper, shorts), and the price is good, so I will Nonetheless, I would like to make one A tall girl's leg length may mean that it is on the short side. A picture of a size 16 French Toast is shown below It is the same waist size (for me, because I ordered from Nautica, and their 16 was smaller than mine), but it is not the same length.
The 6X for my granddaughter is easily a size and a half too small since she has a slim to athletic build and usually wears a 6 to 7. She even fits into some of her size 5 clothes.
My daughter is 10 years old, lean, and not tall by any means. She wore a size 8 slim As shown in the photo, the skirt's waist can be adjusted, but it is as shown in the photo without being adjusted. Whether she wants to tighten it or not is up to her. I like how the fabric feels and looks. One thing I didn't realize is that the back of the dress is not pleated. It would be nice if the back had pleats so you could jump and play a little more comfortably. Although I do not expect it will be much of a problem, I will report back if it interferes with her movement. In summary, the skirt is adorable and my daughter asked for another immediately after receiving it.
The size 6 slim fits my almost 6-year-old daughter just right, since she is almost six years old in these pictures.
In the Product Details section of this skirt, it says 'Closure Type' and I wanted to make sure it was this type of closure. This skirt is classified as "pull on", which is partially true, but it has a zipper on the side which is what I was looking for before ordering since I need a skirt without a zipper. As I see in the more detailed description, a "hidden zipper" is mentioned, but it doesn't say which one is the closure, so I just wanted to let other parents know since I know not all children may be comfortable wearing a zipper on their hip after using the restroom.
