I haven't decided yet. My daughter is in the first grade. When I got them, 5 and hers were perfect. Just a heads up: after a month, they started to fall apart.

The shoes themselves are delightful! I bought them for my daughter's school uniforms, and she usually wears a size 10, so I ordered an 11 for her. They're smaller than I expected, and I could tell they'd be a tight fit just by looking at them in the box. They're even smaller; I compared them to her regular size 10 shoes and found that they were narrower and smaller. It's a bit more than a nine. The shoes themselves are lovely and well-made, so they get a 5. I'm going to save them for her younger brother or sister. I recognize the brand from a Payless store that has since closed, so I'm keeping them because I'm not sure where else I'll be able to get another pair.
Because there is no playground at the school, My daughter is completely enamored with her footwear.
