Instead of being made of plastic, the spikes are made of rubber. If you were to be stepped on by the cleats, it would hurt less than if you were stepped on by a regular soccer cleat. Turf cleats, if you will. If you're an adult player, they're supposed to be for shorter grass. For a kid, I think they're fine for grass sports like soccer and lacrosse, but not for football, which is such a stupid sport that you'd be better off hammering nails through your kid's tennis shoes if you're planning on arming him for football. Smack him across the face with a rubber mallet to get him ready.
I'm not sure if a 2 is a good idea. I thought the size 6 was spot on for size; most soccer shoes are so narrow, and my son has a wide foot, so the wide width was perfect.
It's not ideal for soccer, but it's adequate.

We've tried a lot of shoes over the years because we have two boys who play soccer. This model is excellent for both turf and artificial grass. Excellent traction, a great feel, and a comfortable fit. When we say "great traction," we mean that these turf shoes outperform any other we've tried so far, especially on artificial grass, which is exactly what we were looking for. The aggressive tread design and soft rubber compound make the shoes grippy on artificial grass as well as shorter carpet-like surfaces. such as turf On wet artificial grass, the tread pattern and compound combination give it a distinct advantage over many other FG and turf shoes. I can't comment on tread life on asphalt because it's avoided in order to maintain tread depth and sharp edges, as well as switch from flip-flops to flip-flops. Except on the pitch, they're flops. This shoe makes me very happy. br>br> Since discovering the shoe, we've bought several pairs and will continue to do so as long as New Balance makes them. br>br>Even though our feet aren't particularly wide, we always order the "wide" designation. Many soccer shoes appear to be absurdly narrow to us. I'm not sure you'll be satisfied with them if your feet are truly wide. If you're like us and find that a lot of big-name soccer boots are too tight, the wide version of this shoe should be perfect for you.
She usually wears Adidas, but on the turf, she prefers these shoes. Other members of her team made the same switch.
My Eight- year- old who suffers from foot problems adore these shoes; they are well worth the money.
My son, who has wide feet, found the fit to be excellent. 3 times per week is a moderate amount of use. However, the fact that it only lasted about three months is unacceptable. Perhaps there was a defect in the stitching, but I was hoping these would have lasted at least a season.
These cleats are a big hit with my 8-year-old son. We had to return some other brands due to their narrowness because he has a wider foot. This pair appears to be a better fit for his foot.
