Nope, it's made of hard plastic. Today was my first day on the job. It's a children's toy, so the plastic isn't as tough as it could be.

I've worked at Ren Faires in the past. They are only particular about the actors' attire, and vendors are usually required to come as close as possible. Those who attend the fair You can dress up as any character you want, including Link (DC and Marvel characters have previously appeared). Participation in the SCA necessitates wearing period-appropriate attire. Get into character as a visitor from a faraway kingdom--this will add to the fun. Actors, merchants, and other fairgoers will all take part in role-playing. Just don't break our stuff, or we'll turn medieval on you;
Yes, the back has two parallel straps. They are elastic and can be adjusted.

Finally, Nintendo has issued an official license for the Hylian Shield. I'm so glad I didn't give in and purchase another $50 shield "replica. " It's clearly intended for children and costumes. br>br> It's a little flimsy, but it looks great, and you get the stock photo. I've included some of my own photos to show you how it looks with the Master Sword (the 3DS is there for scale). br>br>As a die-hard collector of Nintendo and Legend of Zelda memorabilia, I'm thrilled with my purchase. It's definitely something to hang on your wall, but you'll have to be resourceful because there are no hooks or attachments. br>br>A child could wear this as a backpack, but not an adult; in fact, there is no handle or grip on the back side, as you can see in my attached photo. br>br>I will update this review later.
It was a hit with my son. This was a huge success.
For the past seven months, an active three-year-old has been playing with it almost every day. It's still in good shape and looks great.
This shield was purchased for my son's Link to consume for Halloween. It's perfect for him. It turned out to be an excellent choice for his costume. We were slightly disappointed in the straps on the shield, which aren't quite long enough, despite our best efforts, to wear on children's backs like Link does in Zelda. br>br>We were slightly disappointed in the straps on the shield, which aren't quite long enough, despite our best efforts, to wear on children's backs like Link does in Zelda. That is unquestionably something this company should have considered when it was created. br>br>Another aspect of the shield that disappointed me was its thickness. We first received the sword, which is thicker despite being made of plastic. I was expecting a similar level of quality, but this is significantly thinner. br>br>Overall, we are extremely pleased with our purchase.
For my son's Halloween costume, I purchased this item. He adored it and used it as a real shield against sticks and toy swords for quite some time. It finally broke, but not before taking a lot of abuse. br>br>It's made entirely of plastic and has elastic straps on the back to keep it in place on your arm. For any Legend of Zelda fan, this is a decent replica. The shield itself appears to be in good working order. It's made of flimsy plastic, but that won't be a problem; my only issue is with the straps. Sticky plastic hooks are used to hold them in place. like the ones that store employees use to hang toys. When it arrived, one of the straps was completely loose. The loose strap's top plastic part was attached to the plastic in which it was wrapped. We haven't been able to figure out how to get this one back together yet. We were able to repair the bottom connector because it was sticky, and we were able to reattach it (we'll see how long it lasts). br>br>If they could figure out a better way to attach the straps to the shield, I'd say it'd be worth it (my child loves it even though only one of the straps works). It's only the straps that are bothering me.
This shield was purchased for my son's Halloween costume of Link. The shield helped to tie his entire outfit together and looked great; the only thing I would change is the shield's durability. The purchase would have been more appealing if the plastic had been a little thicker. He's worn it to a few events and it's held up well so far; it's not super thin, but it could have been thicker so he could use it for more playtime. He is about 5'3" tall, and the straps were a little too tight for him. It looked really neat on his back, as if Link carried it around when he wasn't using it. This is a useful feature. Overall, I think this shield is fantastic; however, I wouldn't recommend it for rougher play.
Two of my sons wanted to buy these for their battles with their allowance, and they have so far enjoyed them. I gave it a 4 for durability because the arm straps are attached to plastic tabs glued to the shield, so we had to remind them not to pull too hard when adjusting them or they might pull the tabs off. But they've been fine for the past couple of days; they're a great value for the money, and the kids have been pleased with what they've received for their money.
