While I prefer smaller links, this is an acceptable coif that looks great. It was delivered on time and in good condition. I chose the option with brass edging and am very happy with my decision. I have a few armor kits, and this will fit into a few of them. The bottom of the coif is wide enough to reach the edge of my shoulders, which I like. The links are a little smaller. I use a similar coif on another of my hairstyles. I would have given this item five stars if I could. However, the cost would almost certainly have been higher. It was an excellent purchase.

This is a lovely shade of hair. Instead of stainless steel, I preferred a dark color. The only disadvantage is that it comes lightly oiled and scented, which I inhaled, and it would stay on my face until I decided to remove the oil. I used a degreaser to clean mine, and while I understand that this removes the protective oil, it rusted in places due to my sweat during the night. I haven't tried to re-oil it, but I would recommend finding an oil or lubricant you can live with and keeping it on the coif. It's a common problem to keep coifs from rusting. br>When I say it comes oiled, I don't mean it's dripping oil; rather, it's a light protective coating. When you touch it, it may feel a little greasy, but that's not a bad thing. The odor of the oil used was the only issue.

I got a little carried away and put it on before realizing it would dirty my costume. This didn't bother me because I'm dressed in Templar garb, and I'm not a fan of "clean" clothing anyway, but beware! It does come with oil, which must be removed. Now for the review! br>br>All right, let's get to it! So this chainmail coif is one of my favorites. Because of the price, I was concerned that it would be shoddy or cheap, but boy was I mistaken. It's heavy, well-made, and well-protected. It's very comfortable, and while it's heavy (duh, it's chainmail), it's not overly so, and it blends in nicely with my outfit. Given that I have a large head, getting it on was a bit of a challenge. If you have a larger skull like me, be aware that it will take some squeezing to get it on, but it will eventually fit. It's a lot easier to get it off now. I simply knelt and let the mail fall from my brow. I honestly don't know what else to say about it except that it is extremely well-made and will provide excellent service!.

This is what I'm going to wear for Halloween. It's a lot heavier than I anticipated, but it's still very comfortable. It looks great with my Templar robe.

What a fantastic piece! The processing oil/grease from making the ringlets remained on it when you shipped it. I placed it in a plastic container with alcohol and a lid, and shook it vigorously for about a minute. It turned out fantastically! br>br>The information below is intended for the benefit of the company rather than the general public. Have you considered Grade 2 Titanium as an option? Take a look at the oxidized Titanium (and Niobium) jewelry. Purchase 1/16th the diameter of your existing ringlets in Titanium welding bare rod/wire, a high amp power source, an oxidizing solution in a tray, place the Coif in solution, connect the electrodes, and watch the different colors come to life. You might also want to look at how jewelers make their ear rings. I believe that if you do the rods separately and then try to bend the wire into ringlets, the oxide will rub off, especially since the Coif is one-third (or more) the weight of steel.

It worked great as a shoulder/upper back piece after I deconstructed it. The only drawback is how greasy and oily it is. I did my best to wipe it down, but there was still a lot of dirt on it. I know it's there to keep it from rusting, and I'm sure I just don't know how to avoid getting covered in oil, but everything else is perfect!.

This is an excellent item for the price in my opinion; I ordered the largest size because I didn't want to return it if it didn't fit. It fits me fine because I'm of average build. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that the coif is heavy to wear, and you may need some assistance to get it to fit properly on your head and shoulders. Having said that, I believe the weight is a good indicator of the item's construction quality.
