These are extremely large. It's possible to go with the number four or the number five or six.
A size 5/6 was purchased. My grandson was five years and nine months old at the time, and he was frail. He's almost seven years old and still wears those trunks. He attends a weekly swim class, so the quality is excellent.

I believe it will be a little larger for a four-year-old child. But the one he had last year was tie, and he had trouble getting it down to pee, so this spiderman is perfect, and he loves it, and I think a little bigger is better than tie to get them to the bathroom without you having to be there to assist them.
WELL! I try to live on the spur of the moment, so I signed my son up for swim lessons two days ahead of time. I didn't know where to get swim trunks because it was winter where I live, so I spent an entire day on Amazon looking for good shorts with good reviews and sizing that was easy to understand. I took a chance on these and it turned out to be a wise decision!! These are a big hit with my son. They also arrived on schedule.
I ordered two because they were absolutely fantastic. Although Amazin was no longer available, I was able to locate it elsewhere. I'm hoping for more stock to come in. The quality is excellent.
