This jacket was initially bought for my 13 year old son, but last time he tried it on, the sleeves were way too short, although it seemed like it fit the rest of his body. My son, who is 10 years old, is wearing it in the picture I took. At least he will have something to grow into. You can see that the shirt is big on him. The jacket overall looks good and is well-made. However, the sleeve length is not listed on the size chart because going by the chart, my 13 year old should have been able to wear the size 18, which we got, but like I said, the sleeves are too short.
Go up in size to make it more roomy. I find that my slim tall 10 year old fits a little tighter than usual in this size 12 suit jacket, so there is not much room for growth. As far as he's concerned, it looks good on him and feels comfortable. If we had more time, I would have sent it back so he could get a bigger size. The material is thicker than what he is used to on a dress jacket, but it wouldn't be a problem. The larger size may have lasted longer.
