For my 8-year-old, I ordered a half-size larger, and for my 9-year-old, I ordered the same size as his foot. The number 13 should be the same as the number of children under the age of thirteen.
They were given to me by my 9-year-old son for swimming trips at the lake. Last year on vacation, she wore them for a walk to the beach from her beach house. I'm not sure about biking in her pink ones because the soles don't have a lot of traction, but I see some of the styles have more of a shoe-like feel to them. type of sole We've been pleased with them, and they've lasted a long time!

Although the outsole is not as thick as that of a tennis shoe, it is adequate for running.

I bought two pairs for my children to wear on a family vacation. Both of them fit perfectly, and I ordered their normal shoe size, which was easy for my 5-year-old to put on himself (size 13), which made getting him ready much easier. They never complained about their feet when we used them to hike through the rivers of UTAH. For in-and-out-of-the-water activities, simple shoes are recommended. The only reason for the one-star deduction is the shoe's bottom grate. Small pebbles would get in but would not get out for some reason. It's not a deal breaker, but we had to empty the shoes a couple of times, but it wasn't a big deal because they're so easy to put on and take off. So far, these are the best water shoes we've found for kids.
These were purchased as a summer gift for my 8-year-old son. We live in Texas and try to swim as often as possible. While dry walking the river trail, I felt great and performed admirably. They also stayed on well in the water and protected their little feet, but when they tried to walk back to the car after the shoes had gotten wet, both boys complained of discomfort in their heels and ankles. The shoes looked and fit great right out of the box and at home. br>br>However, they were shot after just one week of summer camp. The soles were falling off, and our fifth-grader informed us that they continued to fall off when wet in the river. Sadly, these didn't last much longer than a week before being discarded.
I was excited to order these shoes because my son was going on a field trip and needed a pair of shoes that could get wet while still fitting snugly. After about an hour, he complained that his heels hurt, and I removed the shoe to find blisters. He had to wear the shoes for the rest of the day by bending the heel down. My only wish is for more padding in the heel area.
My children adore these shoes, which I purchased in two pairs. It is pleasant to walk around in them, and they are well-fitting. Because of the quick shipping, it was well worth the purchase. I would recommend it and buy it again.
