It's a cute jacket, but it's a bit flimsy

My son was overjoyed with the set because it was so cute. The umbrella appears to be durable, but the jacket appears to be not. He put it on with glee when he received it for Christmas. When he was ready to remove it, the plastic around the buttons began to tear as he pulled them apart. I ended up assisting him and had to do so with extreme caution, or else the rip would have been even worse. This jacket cannot be ripped off; it must be handled with caution. I'm hoping it will last long enough to get through a few rainy days.
It's a big hit with the three-year-old

The umbrella is sturdy (the kid has been using it as a toy around the house). When I first received the jacket, it had a strong plastic odor, but it has since faded while hanging in the closet.
