The quality of the outer fabric makes it more of a raincoat than a jacket. Despite its warm and waterproof nature, this is not a coat for Minnesota winter.
Waterproof is the right word for it. Although it has held up well in drizzles, getting into and out of the car in the rain, and getting out of the car in the rain, I am not sure how it would hold up It may help to know that!

This coat was a hit with my daughter. Wearing this coat for two seasons, fall and winter. Her clothes were plenty warm for her where I live in the Pacific Northwest. We don't get super cold winters here very often, only on occasion, so her clothes were comfy. In January, I am not sure how cold it will be in Orlando, but I imagine it will be okay.

I am hardy. The fabric does not seem to be waterproof, which is what we needed. It seems to be plenty warm, but I gave it two stars. This is fabric, not the same stuff you would find on a rain jacket or a There is a good chance that water will bead and roll off at first. If there was a rain storm, I doubt it would hold up. It's not a good idea for kids to play outside when it's raining.

A hole is evident where the pocket should have been, but the zipper allows nothing to pass through. It is also made with two different materials inside the two main side pockets (black and white stripes), which don't go with the jacket at all. doesn't matter for aesthetics, but it's not the best material inside, so I wonder how long the pockets last. On the whole it's a nice jacket for the price, and it provides a good degree of protection you'd expect.
