My son wore this jacket in a downpour and the seams quickly became soaked. It is not something I would suggest.
This is a nice lightweight jacket that will keep your child dry in the rain. It's more of a shell that a child can wear under a sweater to keep warm. It's well-made, and both boys and girls could wear it.
It has pockets that zipper, according to an answer to a question on this product. This was not the case with the one we got. I like the jacket, but the zipper pockets were the reason I bought it, so I'll be returning it.
