My son is 15 years old and weighs about 145 pounds, so we ordered an XL in big boys sweeeet!.
Something is still wrong! I ordered a boy's size L (14/16) for this jacket. The jacket I received did not appear to be the same as the one pictured. The three stripes on the sleeves were interrupted by black bands around the upper sleeves. In addition, there was no Adidas logo above the name on the chest, and the waistband and cuffs of the sleeves were made of the same material as the jacket, rather than the more stretchy ribbed material that is usually used in these areas that require more give, as stated in the project description. I reordered this item in a size "Big Boys" Large, and it was exactly the same as the pictured item and exactly what I expected. The three stripes ran the length of the sleeves, but there was no black band around the biceps. It had Adidas name and logo stripes on the chest, and the waistband and cuffs, as expected, were made of the more stretchy ribbed material. except that it was too small this time! I couldn't understand why the same size and brand could have such disparities in description and size, so I decided to try for a THIRD time to reorder because this item at least matched the description. This time, I went with an XL (18-inch) size. 20) and this was a good fit, but once again, I received an item that did not match the Amazon description. Do I take a chance and reorder a fourth time? Why is getting the item that is pictured a roll of the dice? I'm so tired of this item that I'm considering returning the entire outfit, as I had ordered pants and a shirt to go with the jacket. Right now, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service!.
I bought a medium 10-inch jacket for my daughter. Her age is ten years old. She preferred this style because it was more unisex than the girly versions. It's a good fit for her, and there's plenty of room for her to develop. It's a light weight jacket with a nice thin active fleece lining, and she's tall for her age, so I expect it to fit her fine all year. For the quality, the price is quite reasonable. This is something I strongly suggest.
This appears to be a lovely light jacket. This outfit is ideal for the weather in Kansas. Inconsistencies in youth sizing, on the other hand, irritate me. My son is 4'11" and weighs 98 pounds, so I went with the XL size in the hopes of giving him some room to grow. It's way too big for him right now, but we'll keep it for when he gets bigger. If I had ordered the large, I would have had plenty of room to expand. He wears large in some brands, XL in others, and XXL in still others. I wish clothing manufacturers would standardize their sizing.
This is an amazing jacket. It was a perfect match. My 9-year-old son wears a Youth Large, which fits him perfectly. Will fit him for a long time; he weighs around 75 pounds.
My tall 14-year-old son was the recipient of this purchase. He's about 5'8 1/2 tall and has a slim build. XL is a good fit for him.
I like it a lot, but it's too big for me to wear until next year.
