I can hold my phone and ring light with no problem. A phone mount included in the package is adjustable so most phones can be mounted. As a bonus, this kit comes with a Bluetooth remote trigger that allows you to control your television with your smartphone. (Works extremely well, which I use all the time!)

Since the ring light has a tripod thread, you can mount it on most tripods. When I hang my Nikon D3400 from it, it's not that wobbly, but it can be a bit wobbly at its tallest point. Consequently, I mounted the ring light and DSLR to my Alta Pro tripod, which is much more sturdy. (However, if you're using only a phone mounted with the included tripod and ring light, the lens will not wobble at all.

It looked as if I was sitting in darkness whenever I was seen on the video. I had to turn my laptop's light on and it was extremely dim. Special attention should be given to the fact that it operates on USB or it can be plugged into a USB plug (not included), so it can be plugged directly into a laptop or wall outlet. It has several brightness and hue settings. Due to the fact that I don't use my phone with this or the extra phone holder, I cannot comment on how effective it is with the phone, but I can't imagine it would be significantly different with the phone. Also, I have not used the remote shutter. It has a good light, low price, and sets up within.

It is really nice to have a ring light like this. It has actually served two purposes for me For my Instagram account, I want to shoot pictures of the crystals that I sell and of my yoga practice. Both of those purposes are well served by this tool. There are three color temperatures to choose from and it is bright. As well as the remote clicker, the little thing is awesome.
