" This item is packaged in a non-returnable container. The individual tools are held in a molded cardboard inner tray, which is reinforced by the outer cardboard box. The tray measures 11 inches by 10 inches by 1 inch deep, and some of the components had gotten loose into the outer box but were not lost. I haven't been able to find a plastic box with latches that will fit this tray; A large (but not too large) "flat" box, similar to, would be required. Because some of the tools are small, the inner tray or something similar must be used to fit into the outer storage box, which iFixit does not appear to provide. The outer cardboard box isn't suitable because the tray slides into it, and it's also not very durable. A suitable external plastic storage box for the kit should be included. Iris Portable Project Case with Buckle, Clear, ASIN B00008XPQF is a similar product on Amazon. The interior dimensions of this Project Case are 9 3/8" X 12 3/8" and evidently 1 1/2 in deep, according to customer reviews. In the internal dimension of 9 3/8, it's too small. In addition, the outer cardboard box contains the following information: Tray for sorting. The "Sorting Tray" is an inner cardboard tray with molded cardboard recesses. One would think that something similar to iFixit Anti-Malware would be included. ASIN B00KRPFX00 Static Project Tray is more than just cardboard.
I'm used to using heat guns to remove adhesive from a variety of devices, but this method is much better. A heat gun will often melt plastic screens, making them even more difficult to remove, whereas this simple kit heats the adhesive to the perfect temperature for easy removal. While working with adhesives, there are just enough plastic cards and picks to hold any size screen you might want off. It's a snap to avoid damaging your device in an emergency. I bought this to repair the screen on a Nintendo Switch because a heat gun can easily melt the plastic digitizer, but this product did an excellent job, causing no damage and allowing the screen to come back up without issue. Thank you, ifixit, for a fantastic product!.
In the photo I'm sending, you can see my set of IFixit tools next to the iOpener that you ordered. I've been using the IFixit tools for years, and the material is completely different from what I got with the iOpener. As you can see in the photo, one of the tools that came with the iOpener appears to be a low-quality Chinese version with a cheap material.
Overall, the kit's presentation is excellent, and the content included is of high quality. On a Samsung Tab S3, however, I have never been able to get the iOpener to melt the glue. Finally, I used a high-powered hair dryer to quickly open the tablet's back. The picks, cards, and other elements all came together nicely. br>br>If I had to do it all over again, I'd just buy the picks, cards, and other necessary items and skip the pricey iOpener.
I've been using iFixit products for several years and find them to be well-designed and long-lasting. simply well-thought-out - It's no different with this kit. I would have liked to see a Y000 bit included in the kit, as well as a Pentalobe (Phillips). flat head included), but it's not a deal breaker for me.
I've been battling the adhesion of mobile phone adhesives on screens and, more recently, rear glass for years. I've used a hair dryer and a heat gun to get the job done - I also can't seem to get the phone to the right temperature for some reason. It's either too hot, causing damage to the screen beneath the digitizer, or it's not hot enough, causing me to snap the display while attempting to pry the digitizer off. br>br>Now, the iOpener goes into the microwave, sits on the device, and in 2-minutes, it's ready to use. I can pry the broken glass out in under three minutes. I wasn't expecting this product to make repairs so much easier, but it does. If you've ever had trouble safely removing a phone's display or back glass, I HIGHLY recommend this product; once you've used it, you'll never open a phone without it.
It took a lot of applications for the heating device to unstick the cover of my Google Pixel 3 phone, so it wasn't as simple as their guide claims. However, the overall construction quality was excellent. It had everything I needed to dismantle my phone, I'm fairly certain. If you're going to reassemble your phone, don't forget to get some double-sided tape. a double-sided adhesive.
Here you will find a wide range of useful tools. These tools were extremely useful when replacing a laptop screen. br>br>However, the packaging is a complete disaster. Almost every piece inside was loose and sat at the bottom of the box, rather than in their proper packaging slots. br>br>If you don't intend to keep the package, you'll be fine.
