There is a Plantronics headset I use that uses USB I plugged this adapter into a USB port on the side of my computer, connected the headset and made a video call. Using the dock for the HP EliteBook, I had to use another USB port. I was very pleased with how everything turned out. As the information available for this said it would not work for video or audio, I was concerned. The call was crystal clear when I made it, and the connection worked for me as well. Thank you! Connecting this to a dock with a USB Type C plug will let me use my laptop in that dock. However, I was unable to detect the monitor on the dock since I was using the keyboard and mouse that were connected to the dock. I know the adapter works, but I cannot see the monitor on the dock while the laptop is connected to it.
