This dashboard mat was recently delivered to me. There are no adhesives required because it is extremely sticky. You can put anything on this mat, and it will hold it in place. It's entirely made of a soft gel that, in my opinion, will not withstand extreme heat. Over the next few days, I'll be keeping a close eye on this to make sure it doesn't destroy my dashboard. br>br>Edit: It still hasn't melted after two weeks. For a product marketed as a "Dashboard Mat," it begins to melt around the edges after 6 months and becomes sticky and messy. I live in Maine, where there aren't many long periods of extreme heat. This pad is on the console between my front seats in my pickup, which does not receive the same amount of sunlight as a dashboard.
One of the most beneficial modifications I've made to my vehicle! This device is incredible! Whatever I put on it adheres to it and stays put, even when I'm driving fast on twisty roads. It almost feels like glue on the surface, but it isn't. It doesn't leave any residue behind and is simple to remove. The most practical way to add some extra storage for small items while keeping them close at hand. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The sticky mat began to leak after 16 months. I notified the manufacturer, and I received a replacement right away. Superb after-effects service to customers!.
This sticky pad is great until it gets dirty, at which point it becomes less so. If you use it in a dusty or pet-friendly environment, it will quickly attract and become covered in dust, pet hair, and any other debris it comes into contact with, and it will not work nearly as well as before; however, it can be easily fixed by running it under warm water and brushing away the detritus with your hand while the water is running. You'll need to locate a spot that is free of contaminants. It hasn't melted on much hotter days, but it appears to be doing so now. Some of the car will be damaged as a result of it. It's a real pain. It's not worth the trouble.
I would strongly suggest it. This is what I bought to keep my bluetooth speaker and other electronics off my dashboard while driving. I've done a lot of winter driving since getting it, and I've had to slam on the brakes a couple of times. My speakers, tablet, battery charger, and phone remained stationary while the rest of my car shifted forward! It won't move if you put it on this mat. Friends even helped me by placing open pop cans on it, and now they want one as well!.
On a boat, this is ideal! Sticky to the extreme. Once in place, it will not move. While pounding through rollers on a plane, I had my Toughbook laptop on the flybridge! That's the best I could hope for. Very difficult to remove, and may leave a mess on dash panels with soft surfaces. However, it works well with fiberglass.
