Not in the least. I've had one on my phone for more than two years with no problems.
Bring it to a boil. a blow dryer and then peel it away
They're quite powerful, so it should. My phone case is made up of two layers. A hard shell casing with a thin rubber layer. It operates on both levels.
Any magnetic dash mount should be compatible. The discs aren't magnetic, so they won't stick together. It's just metal and glue.

The adhesive and thickness are the two most significant issues I have with these. To begin with, the adhesive on the back is completely ineffective. The first time I used it, it came off. After removing the adhesive, I used gorilla glue to reattach the pieces. The issue has been resolved. The thickness of the metal was the second issue. The magnet will work with these plates, but the metal is far too thin. I had to put a second one on top of the first because the adhesive wouldn't hold it in place, so I had to glue it on myself. Everything appears to be working now, but there are a plethora of other options on Amazon if you want to try something different.
I took the metal plate off my old phone case and tried to reapply it to my new one when I switched phones. After that, I couldn't get it to stay on, and I tried a variety of super glues without success. I ended up securing the metal plate loosely inside my phone case, which allowed it to hold on to the magnet but always slide off. br>br>I purchased replacement metal plates, each with its own 3M double-sided tape. I also got some double-sided sticky tape, which will come in handy if/when I get a new phone case and don't want to re-use the old plate. It comes down to practicality for me. I have an iPhone XR, and it is extremely secure! Furthermore, it was delivered on a Sunday after an order was placed on Friday. I'm very pleased!.
It's a piece of metal that's made of metal.
Strong enough to keep my phone in the place it belongs.
Because the outerrubber around the Otter defender cases loosens over time, I have to replace these cases every 6 months or so just to get a new outer rubber part. I needed a new magnet so I could keep using my phone holder in my car. This item comes at a very low cost. The magnet isn't quite as powerful as the one that came with the car phone holder kit, but it gets the job done. If anything changes, I'll let you know. UPDATE: After a few days of use, I've discovered that the magnet is extremely weak. My phone is constantly falling. Take a look somewhere else. not the most powerful magnet.
Even with my phone's case on, the magnets are fairly powerful. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A30, which I have protected with a softshell TPU case. I'm very pleased with the fact that it does not move around or slide off when attached to my mount. I'm not sure how it performs with materials other than TPU, but it seems to work for me. I'd make another purchase.
I bought these after tossing out the metal plate that came with my mount by accident. br>Let me tell you, this thing is stuck to my phone case tighter than the trapped souls of the underworld's 7th layer. I put it on crookedly and tried to pry it off to straighten it, but the adhesive is stuck to my phone better than my attachment to emotionally unavailable guys. Kudos to the adhesive makers, finally something that will be with me for the rest of my life, and I have an extra 7 to use later. Worth it.
It was exactly what I was looking for. It adheres to my new case as well as the car mount.
