For example, I was born before the invention of cell phones. While I value technology, I believe it should complement rather than dominate our lives. That's a nice way of saying that using technology for the sake of using it can be just as distracting and time-consuming as doing so. It also has the tendency to cause problems for itself. br>br>On its own, this trimmer is competent, if not excellent. I like how the speed adjusts based on the thickness of the hair, which, when combined with my own speed when trimming my beard (don't go too fast. . . ) does a good job of balancing performance between the thicker and thinner parts of the beard; the run time is listed as just under an hour, but in real-world use, I got about 20 minutes more. It's quick to charge, and it's also simple to clean. I'd be happy even if it didn't have the smart features. br>br>It's the clever features that pique my interest. Some of them, such as the motorized beard comb, are a little gimmicky. With adjustments down to the tenth of a millimeter (or whatever). What do you mean by picometer? What do you mean by nanometer? What? As I previously stated, I'm a simple guy who doesn't give a damn about a beard length of nine inches, and as such, it ends up being overly precise; however, as I previously stated, I'm a simple guy who doesn't give a damn about a beard length of nine inches. 4mm. Of course, your mileage may vary. br>br>The comb can be removed for detail trimming, but I wish it had a narrower head for that purpose. I wish this had two heads like my current Remington beard trimmer, which I can swap out if needed. br>br>This trimmer has three programmable "profiles" in which the comb length is stored on the device so you don't have to remember what length you want to use. Again, it's fine for what it is, but I'm not convinced it has much practical application in the real world. I remember 9mm because it's the length I use on a weekly basis, so having it saved as a profile doesn't help me much. Is this technology for the sake of technology once more? br>br>The trimmer's physical design, particularly the comb, is good. This is a BEARD trimmer, not a general-purpose trimmer, as the name implies. That is to say, if you try to trim long hair with a comb, the comb will clog. Keep it on the beard; mustache care is a different story. It catches the majority of it, but the leading edge of the comb is a BIT too long for the area right under the nose, so you'll have to attack it from multiple angles. It's a fairly common problem with trimmers in general, but it's still an issue. br>br>To summarize, I think it's a good trimmer, but interacting with it to set comb length or try to use the Smart Features put my goodwill to the test. It's simple to clean and operate, but the other features aren't something I use frequently, if at all. If only it came with an MP3 player.
The difference between the shortest setting and the 2nd shortest setting was full scruff or shaved, so I ordered this because I ordered a cheaper no-name brand on Amazon. This trimmer can be used for a variety of purposes. With only a few millimeters of adjustment, it performed exactly as I had hoped. I can basically cut my scruff to any length I want. br>br>Memory settings are also available. For instance, I have a 2 neck. My mustache is at a 2 and my hair is at a 0 mm. 2 mm for the rest of my face, and a 2 for the rest of my body. I'm not aware of any other trimmers on the market that allow for this level of length precision; in fact, I'm not aware of any other trimmers on the market that do. br>br>So far, I'm very happy with the product; my only concern is durability, as I previously owned a Remington with a similar guard that broke, rendering it useless. There have been no issues with this one so far, and it appears to be more durable than previous versions. Any changes will be reflected in this review.
Overall, very nice; I have a very thick beard that some trimmers can't even get through, but this one so far hasn't had any issues with it. I like how precise the height adjustment is, as it allows you to achieve really nice blending and fades while also allowing you to get down to. This trimmer is only 4mm long, which is significantly less than other trimmers. It's also convenient because you don't have to change guards to change the lengths; all you have to do is press a button. Only drawback is that the guard piece is made of thin plastic. I haven't had any problems with it yet, but I could see it breaking if I dropped it or something. I wish it was made of metal or thick plastic. It also won't charge with any micro usb except the Remington one that came with it; otherwise, it's a great trimmer.
This was purchased for my husband because his beard hair kept getting caught in the guard, resulting in uneven trimming and patches, which he had never experienced with his previous trimmer. Each time I needed to remove the guard and shake out the hair, I had to turn it off. This did not sit well with him. I was extremely disappointed. He needed a new upgrade, so I went looking for one. I don't think it's a good idea to try it. Perhaps it's more effective on hair that's thinner and less coarse.
In less than two months, I was laid off. I'm going to try and get back to Remington.
There's so much smart technology in this device, but it won't even turn on for the first time. Purchase something that is less complicated.
There's a lot of room for customization. The digital memory, instant on, and travel mode features, as well as the fact that it is washable, are all significant advantages. The blades are razor-sharp, and the delivery was on time. On the other hand, I require a lower cut than the lowest setting provides, and the unit frequently nicks my skin. Overall, it takes some time to get used to, but it is well worth the investment.
Exactly as stated. You can choose from a variety of beard lengths by using multiple beats settings. Trims your neck area nicely and can be used on sideburns as well. This is a fantastic cut. I had no idea how boring the old one was. This is something I'm glad I bought.
