This one, on the other hand, is a lot more potent than my previous "$18 wonder." It also lasts 3X longer on a charge and comes with a variety of useful attachments. Is the additional $30 worth it? It is in my opinion. The results may vary depending on your circumstances.

The trimmer itself is fantastic in terms of how it feels and cuts, but I bought it for the ability to adjust the trim levels at lower levels, which the provided comb is terrible at. There are three combs included with the trimmer: There are two shades of gray and one shade of black. The gray combs aren't for me because they're for long beards, but that's fine because the black one is for short beards, which is exactly what I need. The black comb, however, has a gap in it that can allow your skin to be pushed into and completely shaved. I try to keep a low profile. With the black comb, I have a level 2 mustache. Because of the gap, there were bald spots when I trimmed. I'm not sure what the designers were thinking when they came up with this design. br>br>With the exception of the Ni-Hon, my older and much less expensive Philips trimmer has a comb with no gaps and does an excellent job cutting hair at lower levels. Because the MH battery in it is failing, I decided to upgrade to a more expensive model that includes a Li-ion battery. ion. If this model could make use of the same gap-filling techniques as the previous one, it would be ideal. I'll buy it if it doesn't have a comb design.
I was hoping to upgrade my stubble trimmer. I was wrong, as it turned out. Because I never use the longer combs, my opinion is solely based on stubble. Don't use this trimmer if your beard is less than 3mm long. br>br> While the trimmer cuts more hair per stroke than my Phillips bt5100, it does so unevenly and too close if you angle your trimmer incorrectly! I use 2mm, and if you press too hard on your face or angle your trimmer incorrectly while trimming against the grain, which is the best way to trim, you will get uneven results. Though the ergonomics of holding the trimmer are better than my previous 5100, the unevenness is the worst part. br>br>I used to have a good beard with my 5100 and would get compliments on it, but I replaced it with this garbage after it broke after 5 solid years. My beard used to grow out evenly, but now that I'm wearing this crap, I don't look as good, and my stubble beard is an important part of my overall appearance. br>br>Like another reviewer mentioned, your skin gets caught under the new stubble guard on a low setting, resulting in bald spots. In addition, because of the unevenness and if you press against your face incorrectly, I started getting more ingrown beard hair. Compared to this, the 5100 had a lot fewer issues. I used to love Phillips Norelco trimmers, but this trimmer simply demonstrates that Phillips didn't properly test this for stubble and simply replaced the battery. In comparison to the 5100, which was solid and high-quality, the hair guards also feel flimsy. br>br>Overall, don't buy this nonsense for stubble trim. I recently purchased a bt5215 that is similar to the 5100 but is no longer in production (there are a few left). Instead of this garbage, get them while you still can! Phillips, please refund my money!.
This is a gamechanger after years of using the 5100 and getting decent results. br>br>I usually shave my beard to a thickness of 2mm. With the 5100, aside from awkward areas, I can get a 90% of the way there job in a few passes. br>br>With the 5500, it's basically a one-pass process. With any electric trimmer I've ever used, I've never gotten such a perfect beard trim. Using it was a breeze, and even trimming without a guide didn't hurt the skin. br>br>One thing to note is that it seems to shave much closer than the 5100, so a 2 on that might be a 2. On this, there are about 2 or 3 people.
After only two uses, it stopped working! I called Amazon customer service, and they were a joke. I was on the phone for an unknown number of minutes while they attempted to contact the company on Sunday, until I informed them that it was Sunday and that no one was likely to be present. Amazon promised to call me back as soon as they were able to contact the company. They did, but I didn't hear it because I was on the phone. When I called them back, they were unable to connect me with the original person who was assisting me. I'm on the phone again, wasting time for who knows how long and getting nowhere. br>It's funny because I used to have a different brand of trimmer for over 20 years. It functions properly, but the blades are worn out. For a long time, I've been looking for a suitable replacement. I used this new one twice before it broke down, so I'm back to using the old one.
If you don't use them, however, they will nick you. This is a very high-quality product in general. a high-quality shaver with a high-quality shaver with a high-quality At your fingertips, you'll find quick trimming and a plethora of length options. However, going below 0 is not a good idea. 8mm, I've had several nicks under my neck in areas where my skin is softer. br>The guards prevent this, but getting around your face with them on is nearly impossible. br>br>I would recommend this trimmer to anyone who wants to grow a beard or stubble of a reasonable length ( I prefer the OneBlade (much smaller, pivoting head makes it easy to get all the spots) for anything under 1mm.
Battery life is long, it is powerful, and it is simple to operate. What does it mean to be "one-of-a-kind"? It's about "pass" shaving that we're talking about. It's the stubble look, not your beard or goatee. If you prefer the shadow at 5 p. m. , use the following formula: "One-of-a-kind" means just that. It's about "pass" shaving that we're talking about. If you're looking for a step up from the 5100, the 5500 is the newest member of Philips Norelco's 5000 series.
