It's not difficult to grasp, in my opinion. My water is probably of average softness, and shaving causes the bowl to become soapy, which isn't a problem. It isn't as polished as marble, has a slightly rough surface, and is well-crafted. texture that is distinct It's also fairly tough, so I don't expect it to break easily, though I haven't tried it. I chose mine because it is deeper than most, resulting in less mess outside the bowl. Aside from a minor discoloration at the bottom caused by water seeping into the marble, which is only cosmetic, I'm pleased with mine and would replace it with the same thing if it were to break.

This shaving bowl is incredible; run it under hot water for a minute and you'll have a nice, warm foam. Because the bowl is quite large, it is very simple to use with any soap. I start by putting soap on the bottom and then making a foam on top of it. I don't get rid of the soap until it's finished - br>The disadvantage of this bowl is its weight and durability. br>I also use it to keep the soap inside. It's so heavy that I'm afraid it'll break my floor if I drop it on it by accident - As a result, shaving necessitates your full attention. You can't just put it on the edge of the sink because you're afraid of the consequences if it falls. If it falls and breaks both itself and the floor, it will obviously shatter into pieces. br>The bowl's bottom section - The one in contact with the shelf has a slick surface. If you place it on a wet surface, it will slide across it like ice skates. br>This is not a travel product; if you must transport it, wrap it in the same way you would a crystal glass. Apart from that, I use it on a daily basis and am very pleased with it.
I've been relocated and misplaced (misplaced?). ) my shaving mug and finally went on the hunt for a replacement. I'm a picky person when it comes to this sort of thing, so I wanted something that didn't look cheap, was classy, and worked well. All of that is accomplished with this shaving soap bowl. br>br>It's surprisingly heavy in the hand (which is a good thing) and sits nicely next to my sink. But looks aren't everything; if something works, it's even better, and this bowl does. When rotating the brush over it, the inside is textured just right to build a great lather. The heavy, marble-like material is excellent at retaining heat. As a result, there's a lot of hot foam on the brush as well as in the bowl. Those of you who waste money on shaving cream in cans/tubes have no idea what you're missing out on. Get this bowl, some good shaving soap, some warm water, and work up a great hot lather in it. It's a life-changing experience.
First and foremost, I intended to review this bowl a long time ago, but I wanted to make certain that I gave it the attention it deserved. The first bowl I received had a lovely marble pattern, but it was cracked and had been patched at the factory. When I contacted Beau Brummell, a gentleman named Daniel asked for a photograph of the strange occurrence. He apologized right away and sent me a replacement. I was even given the bowl to keep! It looks great on the mantle as a change bowl. Thank you, Daniel, for providing excellent customer service. br>br>The replacement bowl isn't quite as nice as the first, but it's still acceptable (luck of the draw). Let me tell you, this bowl is heavy and holds a lot of heat, resulting in a nice HOT lather! It appeals to me. Look at the image below. The temperature probe was in the lather and not in contact with the bowl. When I touched the bowl (which I had to hold with a wash towel), it shot up significantly. I simply poured hot water into the bowl (yes, my hot water is extremely hot!). ) for a minute, then poured out the majority of the liquid and began whipping. Rubing that into my beard feels AMAZING!! The only downside to this bowl is that the inside rings are a little rough, so if you have a nice/expensive brush, you might scratch it if you're not careful. Aside from that minor flaw, I ADORE THIS BOWL! Purchase one RIGHT NOW and indulge in the same hot lather that I do!.
The bowl is slightly smaller than I expected based on some reviewer photos, but it's perfect for me and my bathroom. I can easily hold the bowl while shaving if necessary, and it also fits inside my bathroom cabinet at its current size; however, because it is marble, do not drop it or use it as is while sitting on your bathroom counter. After purchasing many different shaving bowls over the years, I'd easily say this is my favorite: the material is high quality marble, the natural coloring of the marble is beautiful and ideal for me and my bathroom, and the function as a shave bowl is as good as, if not better than, any I've used. If you want a marble shave bowl, this Beau Brummell marble shave bowl is worth the extra money. With any questions I had, their customer service was also very helpful. Enjoy your shave!.
I would strongly suggest it. This shave bowl has a fantastic visual aesthetic, even better than it appears in the pictures, and I am extremely satisfied with it. br>br>The dimensions are exactly what I needed; It feels great in my hand and has a nice weight to it. I also like how deep the bowl is. Before I shave, I like to soak my brush in the bowl, and I've discovered that many bowls are too shallow to allow for soaking because the bristles aren't completely covered. Not only is this bowl wide enough to lather while still fitting comfortably in my hand, but it's also deep enough for me to completely submerge the brush bristles while soaking. br>br>I read some reviews that said it was slippery to hold when wet, but I disagree completely. It's made of marble with an exterior finish that doesn't get slippery at all. Unless completely covered in soap, this bowl has a good amount of friction, allowing for a firm grip even when very wet. No worries about it slipping from your grip. br>br>I am very pleased with this bowl. I would definitely recommend it, and I was pleasantly surprised, especially given the low price. Excellent customer service, prompt arrival, and well-packing to prevent breakage en route. Five out of five stars.
