Questions & Answers

I just got my brush today, and I'm having trouble getting it to work up a lather. I use an art of shaving soap and a boar hair brush. Is there a method to this madness?

Have you tried shave soaps from other brands? I've used the Razorock Plissoft with Arko, Taylor of Old Bond Street (Sandalwood), Proraso (White, Red), and Nivea Shaving Cream and haven't had any issues with performance. I haven't tried the Art of Shaving soap, but if it's a hard soap, you might want to bloom it with some warm water before loading it into your Plissoft. Best of luck!

Do you soak your synthetic brushes before using them?

No, you don't need to soak a synthetic brush before using it. Soaking a synthetic brush will not improve the quality of your shave.

I'm curious about the manufacturer of this brush. ?

Unless someone can prove otherwise, the box and brush were most likely made in China, as there is no country of manufacture on the box or brush.

At an absurdly low price, you can have luxury
4/5

For almost 15 years, I've been wet shaving. I've had some of the best badger, silvertip badger, boar, and horse meat I've ever had. I have a collection of hair brushes. From the Simpsons to Shavemacs to custom-made brushes to drugstore specials, there is something for everyone. I can honestly say that the worth of this brush far outweighs everything else I've bought (and even given). It's my first synthetic brush, and I'm blown away by the RazoRock Plissoft's performance. It takes no more effort to load than a boar or badger because lather explodes from the puck onto this brush. It holds enough lather for two full passes of shaving, with enough left over to squeeze out and use in a final face wash (enough for a full three pass shave if desired). It's a powerhouse in hard soaps and, of course, a dream in creams. For me, one of the most appealing features of this brush is how quickly it dries after each use. After each use, I wash the brush, sling out the water, and it dries in under 4 hours in a well-ventilated area. Area with a vent. It has enough backbone and just the right amount of splay to feel great in your hand. I guess I'll give it a four-star rating. Only because of its incredible luxurious softness does it get a star instead of a five. I'm laughing as I type that. I feel like I'm doing my face a disservice by using it because it's so soft (I like a little'scritch' on my face). Having said that, this brush is virtually unbeatable. Take a chance and have a great time!.

especially since there's no way of knowing whether or not the brush will fit
5/5

I recently purchased this brush, and it lives up to all of the other positive reviews. My main issue was that it didn't fit on the stand I already had, and I didn't want to buy another. especially since there's no way of knowing whether or not the brush will fit. I was able to modify the brush as shown in the pictures, though I acknowledge that my method is a little obsessive. I used this as an example:
- A 1. 25" PVC coupling to encase the bristles and provide a gripping surface for the chuck jawsbr>- The brush body is taped to the coupling with electrical tape.
- The drill chuck was used to keep the brush square to the parting tool while cutting the groove, as well as to help tap the brush body to the coupling. Between the brush and the drill chuck face, I put a piece of cardboard.
- a 1/8" parting toolbr> a 1/8" parting toolbr> a 1/8" parting toolb Make use of the back-up plan. The RPMs are extremely slow due to the lathe's gears. I set the RPMs to around 350. br>- Slowly advance the parting tool so that each revolution removes a small amount of material. You must exercise patience. Alternatively, you can use a flat file to cut a notch, but this will take a long time.

Shaving Brush of Excellence! I've been using badger brushes and Shark blades on a Parker 34C safety razor setup since 2012
5/5

I recently switched to Astra blades, which have proven to be sharper than Sharks, and I've switched soaps/creams several times before settling on Maison Lambert (look it up, seriously). I have sensitive skin, so figuring out what works and what doesn't is a constant battle. Finally, I have three or four old badger brushes (all Art of Shaving brand), so I decided to give a synthetic brush a try just to see how it works. Now, I like the idea of not depleting the badger population, but I have no idea where the synthetic brushes come from (i. e. , where do they come from). sweatshops, labor camps in prisons, and other forms of forced labor). That said, from a product/use standpoint, everything has gone well so far. It lathers up nicely, even better than the badger brush I was using previously. However, the Maison Lambert soap I began using is extremely gentle, and it's the only soap I've used with this brush. I haven't tried the same soap with my old badger brush, so if I find the new brand to be lacking in combination with this brush, I will update my review.

Amazing! I'd been wanting to get a Razorock brush for a while and finally got my hands on one
5/5

The right knot size for me is 24mm, and the right material is synthetic. They don't need to be soaked like a natural hair brush, and they work great, even the cheap ones. But this one stands out from the rest of my synthetic brushes because the handle is the perfect size and shape for working up a rich, creamy lather on my face. It also works well when lathering in a tub or a bowl. Simply put, he is a fantastic performer on all levels. It has a premium appearance and feel to it. The bristles are tight enough to provide a nice backbone while remaining soft against the skin, resulting in a perfect lather for me. With my Arko soap stick, I can actually get enough lather for four passes, which is incredible. Working with Proraso in the tub creates a ridiculous amount of lather. I wouldn't have needed another synthetic brush if this had been my first. However, I enjoy having it in my synthetic rotation and am looking forward to the days when this one is released. Get one!.

My badger isn't nearly as good as this one
5/5

My badger just couldn't seem to stop shedding. I assumed that a synthetic would shed less for reasons I don't understand. br> Well, it *doesn't* shed nearly as much as it used to. Furthermore, it is extremely comfortable and simple to operate. br>For those who come from a badger family, I recommend not soaking, but rather lightly dipping the tips in waterbr>and repeating if necessary.

There's not a lot of backbone in this one
4/5

The softness of this brush appeals to me. It is gentle on my skin and does not irritate it. It's also great to have an extra brush that I don't have to soak for quick shaves on weekday mornings. It doesn't lather as well as my badger brush, but the badger brush's knot is denser. I like how my badger brush has a slight "scritch" to it; It appears to aid in exfoliation. And because this brush lacks backbone, it sags a little. That said, it feels great and lathers well, and it's not too pricey, so I have no regrets about purchasing it.

This is for you if you enjoy extreme softness with no backbone
5/5

Extremely soft, with a good weight-to-size ratio and ergonomics. It simply feels like food in the hand, and my hands are of average size. This knot is EXTREMELY soft and comfortable. br>br>Should note that it is EXTREMELY soft and comfortable. However, even for a synthetic knot, it lacks a BACKBONE, which makes applying cream or lather to your face with painting strokes difficult. I'd suggest choking up on the grip all the way down to the knot's base, which could get a little messy. Water absorption and retention are both excellent. br>br> Overall, if you know what you're doing in terms of lather control or plan on bowl lathering, this is a great brush.
