Questions & Answers
As a consumer, I must admit that I had no idea. After you asked your question, I looked into the problem. It's terrible, but you need to talk to Muhle about it if you want to get an answer.
This brush appears to be made in Germany - It's all about quality. So far, four cheaper brushes have come and gone due to bristle loss, and this brush has outlasted them all. One year later, it's still perfect and lathers beautifully, with no bristle loss. It's well worth the money.
Yes. The Standard brush can be found on the left. A travel brush is shown on the right, along with a carrying case.

Prior to this, I had $10 "badger" brushes that were either fake, cheap badger, or not badger at all. It's impossible for me to say. However, for $42, I have to say that this "expensive" shaving brush is well worth the money. It's a joy to hold and look at. It's not as stiff as a horse or boar brush, but it'll get the job done. I've never eaten a silvertip badger, but I imagine they're too soft. This brush is the ideal balance of stiffness and softness. It's stiff enough to gently exfoliate while still being soft and smooth enough to be enjoyable to use. It can hold a lot of lather and water. I can shave twice more with new lather and comfort after a full thick lather shave. I've only had it for a week, but unlike cheaper brushes, it hasn't shed any hair. It has a lovely weight, appearance, and handling. The utility and function for creating a fantastic lather are exceptional. EVERYONE SHOULD BUY THIS BEAUTIFUL AND FUNCTIONAL SHAVING BRUSH, AS THE FEEL ON THE FACE IS PERFECT. Herr Muhle, thank you for a lovely and practical product!.
The brush has shed very few bristles over the years and has been subjected to a great deal of abuse. My new Muhle brush should last about the same amount of time. It has a good, heavy weight to it and appears to be well made, with the steamed ash and chrome combining to make an appealing combination. There are many shaving brush options available, many of which are less expensive, but I wanted a brush from a reputable company that I could trust to last.
The stiffness of the real beaver bristles is ideal for holding shaving cream with just the right amount of water to prepare the face for shaving. The handle is ideal in terms of shape and fit in the hand, as well as for working up shaving cream. This is preferable to the silver tip, which I find to be a little too soft. I would strongly suggest it.
One of the best brushes I own so far, especially for the price.
Simply amazing. I've had a variety of brushes in the past, ranging in price from $15 to $250. They've all been good, but this one is almost perfect; I despise overly soft badger brushes, so a slight stiffness combined with softness on contact makes this the ideal brush. In addition, there is no hair loss after the first use. Nothing compares to this.
Beautiful work of art for a traditional shave, and I love the color variations.
As a gift for my husband, I chose the wood handle brush, which he absolutely adores. This brush is well made and looks great on his shave stand; I've bought brushes from much more expensive shave suppliers and this one is just as nice; I would definitely recommend it.
