I'm not sure if they are, but if you're concerned, I recommend using synthetic or horse hair brushes because horse hair knots form after the horse is groomed, so it's not cruel.

Then this appeared on my screen, and I decided to give it a shot because it included a badger brush and a bowl. I'm also a big fan of the blue color scheme. br>br>The bowl is nice and sturdy, and the ridges on the inside help it to froth and lather nicely. To test, I used Proraso Green and Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood. br>The brush is also quite nice, and I like how solid it feels. I'm used to floating brushes with wooden handles. This one has the ability to fall faster than an anchor. When I tipped the cup over, I thought I was going to break my tub. br>br>Since I keep my house cold most of the time, I simply fill the sink with hot water and submerge the bowl and brush at the same time. This kills two birds with one stone, and I don't have to worry about the shave cream cooling too quickly in the bowl. br>br>When it comes to the "handle," it's essentially a thumb or finger placement. Wet or dry, there is enough bare ceramic to grip. br>I'm not a big fan of the DE safety razor, but I think the bowl and brush combination is good for beginners and not so much for experienced DE shavers. In my opinion, the best bag for the buck.
I'm 53 years old and have been using that brush for nearly 30 years. I have to say that the old boar hair brush is much softer than this brush, which felt scratchy to me. I liked how quickly the lather built up in the bowl. I'm hoping that with use, the brush softens. br>The brush handle has a nice shape that makes it easy to hold. I wish the bottom of the bowl wasn't glazed. It's similar to the spot on the bowl's side. Overall, this appears to be a good value for the money and a suitable replacement for my grandfather's set.
This lather bowl was a definite no-no. For me, it's an easy decision. I wanted a low-profile lather dish like the Captain's Choice offering, but I didn't want to spend $40 on a ceramic bowl. Then I came across this one for $25 that came with a Badger brush. I decided to buy it because it was only $99 at the time. What a delightful surprise! The bowl is made in the same way - As a bonus, I received a nice looking Badger brush. Although I prefer synthetic brushes, this is a lovely heavy-duty brush. The brush head isn't the best, but it gets the job done, and the handle is fantastic and very appealing to the eye. So, if you're looking for a nice lather bowl, look no further.
Bowl and brush are both lovely. I reasoned that if I broke my old soap and microwaved it for a few seconds, it would fit in my old bowl. Because this soap's water content was too low, it didn't work. As a result, I decided to purchase a larger bowl. The LOCCITANE bowl, which came with a brush, is no longer available. The bowl is well-made and sturdy, and the brush is well-made as well. It was extremely well packed. A good five dollars goes toward packing, in my opinion. Many reviews, in my opinion, are untrustworthy. It's only a bowl, after all. If you need one, this one is nice, and the brush is nice; my previous bowl was fine, but I prefer the LOCCITANE soap.
The bristles are dense and tight, and the crown is neatly rounded. The cup is appealing to the eye and comfortable in the hand. When held against the heel of the thumb, the unglazed spot on the outside provides a secure grip. A luxurious lather is created by soaking the brush in soap and then working it across the ridges at the bottom of the cup with a little extra water. It's important to note that this isn't a soap cup, but rather a lathering cup.
I only had one shave with it since I received it today. So, as of right now, I really like the bowl, which I wasn't sure I would. But, to my surprise, it's fantastic. It fits comfortably in the hand and has a fantastic thumb rest on the side. The brush has a good amount of weight to it, and it feels and looks great in the hand. So far, everything appears to be in order. I'd buy it again because of the low price.
I just wanted to give it a shot without committing too much money. They're both well-made and perform as expected. But I didn't like it, and it wasn't because of the product; I think my hand application produces a better lather, so hopefully that helps.
I recently purchased the brush and bowl set. The brush has a typical wet boar odor until broken in, and the bristles do she'd a little the first few times, but overall a nice set. The only issue I had was that the brush handle was loose. The ends were both tight, but the ball in the middle spun like a top, making it difficult to use. If it weren't for that, I'd easily give it a five-star rating.
