I recently purchased a lip scrub, and mine was not packaged in a tamper-resistant manner. I'm hoping it's not something that's been used before. The inside of the jar's seal was broken. I'm not sure if it's because of the oil or because it was opened.

I adore Tree Hut body sugar scrubs and use them on a daily basis, so I had high expectations for this lip scrub, but it disappointed me. On the plus side, it tastes great and doesn't make you feel bad; however, it isn't particularly hydrating. I have to use a moisturizer afterward, which I don't believe you should have to do if you've used a good lip scrub. The packaging is deceptive, as it uses magnified plastic to make the amount of product you receive appear larger than it actually is. The pot is small and square, but the actual circle inside the pot where the product is placed is even smaller. I bought this as a Mother's Day present but was too embarrassed to give it because I was afraid they would think it was a sample because it was so small, so I bought something else for them and kept it for myself. br>br>It's a Little Dry in the Formula - Rather than sticking to the lips, sugar separates and falls off. br>br>Dry, Crumbly, and Clumpy br>br>It's difficult to blend/exfoliate. br>br>Leaves Lips Only Semi-Permanently hydrated. In addition, although the pot is square, only a small circle inside is filled with product (turn it upside down to see this).
Is it really $6 for such a small item? To begin with, this product performed exactly as I had hoped and expected. I, on the other hand, had not anticipated the container being as small as it was. I mean. SUGAR and OIL are all that's in it. Next time, I'm going to make my own with peppermint extract, $1 worth of sugar, and my coconut oil, and make 100X as much for the same price. You'd be better off just experimenting with different recipes and making it yourself. This shouldn't set you back more than a buck. 75 points based on the price of the ingredients and the size of the package. br>br>I mean, if this is how much this company charges, I might as well start my own line and sell them for $2 each. Seriously, I was just pricing small glass containers and they're like. . . $0. I know how much the other ingredients cost and how much they cost.
So, I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly or not. So, take my opinion with a grain of salt if you want to, but; In the dead of winter, I'm an African-American adolescent in New England. I use it before leaving my room for class, but it was gone within 30 seconds of walking outside, and my lips would be completely chapped and peeling in an hour. I'm not sure if I was supposed to apply a lip mask first, then this, or something along those lines in order for it to work and last, but yeah. Just my two cents' worth. I'm not saying don't buy it; it might be perfect for someone else, but it's not for me.
It does its job as a scrubbing machine. My lips are notorious for being dry and chapped, particularly on one side where I bite my lip. Using this scrub (along with a silicone lip brush) has helped to eliminate the chapped appearance and even prevent the skin from chapping in the future. The jar is small in size. br>br>Physically, it is small. I like how the jar looks and how it is presented. A little goes a long way with this scrub. Although, as another user pointed out, the mixture is a little dry and clumpy, making it difficult to spread evenly across your lips. The scent is so light that I almost don't notice it most of the time, which is fine with me. br>br>Leaves your lips soft and lustrous, though I'd still apply a good moisturizer/chapstick after this scrub has been fully soaked in/licked off/whatever. Especially because licking your lips removes the moisture you've worked so hard to apply. br>br>This is my first time using a lip scrub, so I'm not sure how effective it is. It removes dead skin and softens my lips, though I believe it could be a little more hydrating.
LOVE IT! ♥️. Although this product had "no reviews" at the time of purchase, I didn't hesitate to give it a try because I had been a Tree Hut customer for several years. I have never been let down. I usually don't give anything 5 stars until I've used it for at least 6 weeks to allow the product to work its magic. I'll be three weeks old in a few days. I think it'll get a 5 in the end. My lips weren't terrible before I bought them, but they were bad enough that I couldn't wear my "much loved" lipsticks, which I now wear every day because of my baby butt "Sugarlips. " The jar is small, but it only takes a small amount of product to make a significant difference in the way my lips felt the first time I used it: they were smooth, silky, velvety soft. kissable. It is possible to lick the product off your lips, but I prefer not to because it has a pleasant flavor. I will admit that I apply a good lip moisturizer on a regular basis. It is strongly suggested that you take this action.
VERY TINY! I like this product, but it doesn t do what I expected it to do. It feels nice and gritty until you rub it in, at which point it melts away and fails to exfoliate as well as it should. About 70% of the dry/flakey skin off my lips comes off of my lips comes off of my lips comes off of my lips come That is not what I require or expect of it. The scent is okay; I was expecting a stronger peppermint flavor, but it wasn't there. However, I believe it moisturizes adequately. Please take note of the following: For around $6, you get an EXTREMELY SMALL container. The tiny container contains approximately 3/4 teaspoon of product. Other brands, I believe, perform far better and provide significantly more product than this one. I had high hopes for this because I adore this brand's sugar body scrubs, but it just didn't work for me.
This is a fantastic scrub. It's just a sugar scrub with a pleasant scent. It doesn't matter what they put in it, it immediately softens my lips. I use the scrub before going to bed and leave it on all night. It works so well that my lips are once again luscious in the morning. My only gripe is that the container is extremely small, and I wish it were larger so that I could get more product.
This lip scrub was a huge disappointment; it smelled great but didn't exfoliate my lips at all. Because the scrub doesn't stay on the lips long enough to provide adequate exfoliation, I'm still on the lookout for the ideal lip scrub. I'm hoping to find it before the fall season arrives because I adore scrubs, especially those for the lips.
