This was my second order and I'm extremely disappointed. It was amazing when I ordered it a few months ago. This brand of shea butter is in the top 5 of all other brands in terms of texture, smell, DIY body butters, lotions, and creams can be made with the shea butter. It is semi-transparent Solid at first, but melted almost immediately when heated by the body. Using the shea butter from my first order to make creams, I received so many compliments on them that dozens of orders came in for 2oz or 4oz jars, to give After that, I received my second order about 10 days before Christmas. As soon as I saw the product, I was horrified. It was completely different from what I had ordered. It showed no resemblance to my first Unlike fresh cottage cheese, it smelled rancid and had a weird texture. It was so easy to slice it with the initial shea butter that it resembled In the 2nd order, as soon as I opened the bag (that was bloated and super pressurized, it released a sour, chemical stench when it burst open), the containers crumbled and fell apart. Having returned the unacceptable product, I rapidly sought out and ordered replacement shea butter from another company (requiring frantic research and less than ideal results - I'm still waiting for my replacement. Even so, the shea butter that was provided by the other company was not nearly as bad as the second In the end, I didn't finish the jars of cream in time to give to my parents There is no doubt in my mind that I am incredibly disappointed and upset about this, especially because the first shipment was so phenomenal. If this is not rectified, please tell me. You should be able to ensure a consistent quality of your products, especially since so many purchases have been verified, and so many loyal customers have supported you! In the event Better Shea Butter sends me a replacement 1lb package of shea butter that I find acceptable (free of charge, no charge), I will gladly submit a revised review.

Occasionally, I read bad reviews on products, and most of the bad reviews of Better Shea Butter's unrefined shea bitter had to do with their orders smelling I checked the expiration date of my order when I received it and it was set to My immediate thought was that it was expired based on how grainy it looked when I opened the package. Although the smell was fine and the amount of product was sufficient, I didn't want to waste it. As the package stated, the grains are normal, however the butter doesn't smooth out the way I would expect Shea butter to smooth out or how it appears in some of the pictures on other review sites. After applying this to my face at night, I was fine the next day. I washed my face again the next day and before I even put on the Shea butter, my face felt burned. When I put Shea butter on it, I thought it would make it better, but it kept burning until I took it off and washed it Update (UPDATED It also feels sticky after you rub the Shea butter into your skin. feel as though the product is supposed to be of good quality based on all the good reviews, but I somehow received a bad batch and it didn't quite live up to expectations . . . my review was hidden as a result of Amazon's sensitivity filter & after three people voted my review as helpful The integrity of this company as well as Amazon is called into question here! My settings needed to be updated, but keep in mind it was already public before it was hidden. The fact that it has so many positive reviews and hides my negative review makes me wonder how many other negative reviews are being buried. So BUYER BEWARE).

This is it. A buttery substance. This is the best mix I've ever made. I am a fan of this butter. I was surprised to find the shea butter still soft to the touch after it arrived sealed airtight and fresh (which I had never experienced I thought I'd be able to complete my total batch in one sitting since it was a medium sized brick. used half a block (with a mixture of coco butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and essential oils) and it yielded a 16 oz jar of lotion. My butter mix has been in my fridge for two months in the pictures. I'm very happy with how it's held up. I liked the fact that the picture was not grainy, either! As a result of its sheer luxurious quality, I use it as my daily skin "lotion". Originally designed for use as a hair butter only, I now use it as my daily skin lotion too. My expectation is I won't have to invest in Aveeno ever As a result, I can easily spread my mix and it is well absorbed by my skin. When it comes to money, a little bit goes a very Following a shower, I always use this before going to bed. Hair that is well nourished and baby skin that is soft. It smelled like chemicals, so I had to throw away the stuff I made with it. It overpowered all of the products I made. When I contacted the company, they said that they could do nothing because I had thrown it all away. This is a company I would never recommend to anyone and won't buy anything from them again.

Upon opening the Shea butter I received, the scent is strong, like dead fish. Additionally, if you look at the white spots all over your clothes, I would wager that it is mold, since it smells just What can I do? I can't even return this? How can I even do that?.

I was hoping to make some homemade body butter, but I was not able to achieve that. This is the first time I've tried this and I didn't know what to expect. I'm guessing because it's unrefined that this is what it's supposed to be, and if that's the case I apologize Nevertheless, if you want to make homemade lotion or body butter, I am not recommending.

The item I purchased from Amazon left me feeling more betrayed than ever. It has never happened to me to receive a product from Amazon that had gone bad or been damaged. A bad product ended up in the trash where it belongs after going bad, having a horrible smell, yet it was still in the package. Thus, I am never going to try another brand of shea butter again. I used sweet almond oil instead since I ordered it with this product and that has taken care of my hands' moisture without any additional input from me. Normally, I would not even attempt this, but if I knew it beforehand, I wouldn't even attempt it. I hate spending money this way.
