This was purchased to replace a tub I purchased from Sephora. There was no seal on the tub when I opened it, and I could tell the texture wasn't Josie Maran right away. The scent is different (even though it's unscented, the genuine Josie Maran has a light, distinct scent), the texture is different, and the jar is only half-full. full. Because it's so light and non-abrasive, it's perfect for It's greasy, but it absorbs quickly and makes my skin glow. I also apply a small amount to my face. TL; DR - Rather than Amazon resellers, purchase this item from a physical store. The original product is fantastic. This nonsense isn't going to work. br>br>I'd like to start by saying that I've never purchased a counterfeit beauty product on Amazon. Because of that, and the fact that the actual product is one of my holy grail moisturizers, I guess I was a little too optimistic about this one. br>br>First, a look at the original product. br>br>I'd seen Josie Maran's skincare line advertised on HGTV for a long time. Every time I went to see my grandmother, she seemed to be watching TV and getting a strange sense of satisfaction from rubbing her products into that one overly-sensitive person. Her arm was slathered in lotion. So I was extremely curious when I got a free sample of the lavender face mask and the whipped face butter with my bottle of 100% argan oil. And I adored it. br>br> br>br>So I trudged down to the nearest Sephora, only to discover that they were out of the face butter. This, on the other hand, was available. So I went out and purchased a tub. br>br> The vanilla apricot was the flavor I chose. And, believe it or not, it's almost identical to the face butter - but with a more delicate scent and a lower cost per ounce As a result, I adore this as well! br>br>I understand that using fragranced products on your face isn't recommended, but as someone with dry, sensitive skin, I've never found it irritating or overpowering. Because it's heavy and takes a long time to absorb into your skin, I recommend using it only at night. If you try to incorporate this into your morning routine, you'll end up looking like a sweaty, greasy mess. br>br>If you're willing to buy from a licensed retailer (like Sephora or HGTV), I say GO FOR IT. This is fantastic! In the worst-case scenario, you rub it on your feet before putting on some fuzzy socks - In the morning, your skin will be unbelievably soft. It could be your new nighttime occlusive moisturizer in the best-case scenario. br>br>WITH THAT SAID, THE PRODUCT I RECEIVED WITH THIS ORDER WAS RANCID - Yes, it is rancid! at the end of two months I mean, it's literally fermenting right now, most likely in a landfill. I never had this problem with the original product, and I still have my first container (which I purchased two years ago!). ) and it's perfectly normal, if a little sparse. br>br>Aside from the revolting odor, the lotion's texture isn't quite the same, and it doesn't have the same effect on my skin as the original; in short, I don't think it's a good dupe. Surprisingly, the packaging matches the product quite well. When I took the product out of the box, I wasn't suspicious of it (except for a missing seal, which, in hindsight, should have been obvious); I didn't realize it wasn't working for me until two or three weeks after I started using it. br>br>Here's something to think about: I purchased from Leap Stores rather than Josie Maran, according to my receipt. When I bought this cream, it didn't have a cover seal under the top and wasn't completely filled. As a result, when I opened the top, assuming there was a seal, half of the contents spilled out.
