Questions & Answers
No, no, no! Shea butter is something I'm not willing to use. It's the result of a childish resentment toward someone. In any case, my customers, friends, and family have been wowed by mango butter products. My entire family, to be precise. Some people complain that it irritates their skin, or that their children despise it. I don't think they've tried any of the soaps or lotions I've given them to try. The point is that mango butter can be used in place of shea butter. Do not use it to substitute for another fat 100% You can find charts on the internet if you do some research.
Although it is not certified, I posed this question to the seller. They pay everyone involved in the process more than fair trade rates, so it's a win-win situation:
Yes, it is unrefined and unadulterated, with no other oils or butters added.
It can be made in a variety of ways! Check out the seller's direct website; they have a fantastic blog full of delicious recipes. 1 cup mango butter (half recipe) and almond oil are my personal favorites. 1/4 cup each jojoba oil (half of the recipe), 2 tablespoons beeswax, and 30 drops essential oils

The shea butter I bought the first two times was fantastic. I really enjoy it. But, most recently, because the product was rancid, I had to cancel my order and contact Amazon for a refund. And I discovered it in a clumsy manner, lol. I assumed it would be just as good as it usually is, so after a shower, I took a generous amount and smoothed it all over. That's when I became aware of the foul odor. If any of you are familiar with this material, it appears to be water resistant. So I dashed to the kitchen to get some dish soap and showered. again. I was already having a bad day, and I suffer from severe eczema, so the experience was the icing on the cake, and my skin was even worse after having to wash my body with dishsoap. So, after reading some other reviews and having this happen to me, I'm a little hesitant to order from them again. *An aside: Amazon did not offer me a free replacement, and the email address I was given to contact them directly was invalid.
Mango butter is an excellent base for skin care recipes. Simply add it to your shopping cart. This SPECIFIC brand/company is now my primary source of information. Aside from the product's quality, the customer service is outstanding. My order was shipped, according to an email I received from the owner. Then, about a week later, a friendly second email asking how my order and product were going. All in all, a fantastic company with a fantastic product, and I even received a generous coupon for my next purchase. br>br> Here are a few points to consider: br> Because the packaging for this item isn't reusable, I transferred the mango butter to a mason jar. br>br> There is no odor to the mango butter. It's silky smooth. br>br> br>br> I used it to make my own deodorant, which you can find the recipe for below. (This batch is doubled, so cut everything in half if you only want to make one batch)br>br> 2 tablespoons unrefined virgin coconut oilbr> 2 tablespoons organic beeswaxbr> 2 tablespoons mango butterbr>- To make a double boil pot, I placed everything in a glass bowl on top of a sauce pan filled with water. Allow the water in the glass pot to simmer until all of the oils and butters have melted.
- Remove the pan from the heat and begin adding the second batch of ingredients as follows: 1 teaspoon vitamin E oilbr>br>-1 tablespoon arrowroot powderbr>-1 teaspoon vitamin E oilbr>br>- br>- Mix everything together until it's completely smooth. br>- After that, add 40 drops of your favorite essential oil. br>- I used ten drops of thieves oil, ten drops of lavender oil, ten drops of lemon oil, and ten drops of Teatree oil. These oils offer a variety of benefits, which is why I chose to use them in my homemade deodorant. br>br>The total weight is just under 8 oz. br>br> I can't promise that any other mango butter will work as well in a recipe as this one does. As a result of the mango butter, the dish is fantastic.
It's not even close to the 1 pound I requested. I also ordered a pound of Shea butter from a different seller (I usually order in larger quantities, but wanted to try out a new brand before diving in), and I couldn't help but notice the difference in size, so I weighed the mango first, then the Shea butter, and then weighed again. A 1/4 pound difference was confirmed. The product, once again, is excellent. However, if quantity is a concern, you should reconsider.
Great consistency, very buttery, and dissolves nicely; I was able to snip the corner and squeeze out a small amount at a time. Melts much faster than Shae butter and is quickly absorbed by the skin. It has a creamy color and a pleasant, almost sweet scent. I bought this for my eczema because it was my first time using mango butter. Since I started using this a few days ago, I haven't needed to use the prescription steroid cream.
I decided to use more natural skin care products a few years ago, but most of the eco-friendly options were out of my price range. I've been using this company's shea butter (combined with coconut oil) to make my own "everything" lotion for a few years, and I've found it in stores and online. Finally, I experimented with a 1: Mango butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, and trader joes coconut oil are among the top products available from this company. This new formula is fantastic! I also bought zinc powder, which I intend to use to make a sun-protective daily face cream. I adore this company and will continue to buy their products even if I make my own lotions.
I used to use shea butter on a daily basis before trying mango butter. The mango butter was less thick, which I liked, but I didn't like how crumbly it was and how it didn't break down like shea butter. I'd get little balls of it all over my skin as I rubbed it in. It wasn't a major issue, but it didn't go on smoothly. My skin is normally dry, and I suffer from eczema. I had hoped that the mango butter would keep me moisturized, but the next day after application, I became extremely itchy. I really wanted to like the mango butter more, but I found that the shea butter was more to my liking.
Perhaps it was just a bad batch, or perhaps it had been left out for too long. In any case, the product is rendered useless as a result of this.
REVIEW WAS UPDATED: br>br>Wasn't expecting such excellent customer service, but the company promptly resolved the issue. I'll place another order in the hopes that it was simply a reaction on our part.
- br>I ordered shea and mango butter from the same company, and they were not what I expected. This was my second batch of Shea butter, but my first batch of mango butter. One of those two, or both, causes a severe allergic reaction on my toddler's skin, which is frustrating because I've been making my homemade bony lotions for a long time and this is the first time something like this has happened. My skin is irritated to the point of itchiness. I now have two opened packages that I must discard! They're both crumbly and look similar in color, and they're both super soft. That is the first time I've encountered that problem.
