I have a few requirements as a goth nonbinary person: A good black lipstick is essential among these. I used to prefer Maybelline's 24 hour matte lipsticks (over all others, and I don't mean this in a monetary sense) because not only does the color pop, but neither God nor man can get it off me once it's on. I can only complain about a slight dryness, but I'm willing to put up with it in exchange for perfectly lined and popping lips. I've tried a dozen or so brands in my search for the perfect black lipstick. If I'd known Maybelline had a black-based lipstick, I would have bought it. I had previously CHECKED but had come up empty-handed- I wouldn't have spent a dime on anything else, and this item (in whatever shade you get it) gives you bright, matte colors. After it has dried, it does not smudge or rub in any way. I can wear a face mask for a 12-hour shift and not see a speck of color on the inside, which is EXACTLY what I want from a lip stick.
I've been doing "fox" brows long before those obnoxious tiktok'ers, but I've had trouble finding a brow product that doesn't smudge in the presence of facial oils. My arches begin to fade after a few hours when I wear my bangs close to/slightly overlapping my brows. blur. Despite the fact that I've tried nearly every "waterproof" brow product on the market, I still find it annoying. When those failed, I started looking into other possibilities. I was adamant about not abandoning my foxes. This is where this product comes in; I bought several colors, but the black shade is for my brows. I do use it on my brows, yes. Why not? Especially since this lipstick can withstand sweat, oil, and a night's sleep that is far from restful. I'm a firm believer now. Why pay twice as much for products at Sephora when Maybelline is here to serve up no-budge, unmovable realness at a great price? It only takes a little to make a big difference. Many reviewers who had a negative experience with this product are now licking their wounds. Of course, when you cake on a second skin's worth of product, it'll flake off. Apply a thin layer and let it DRY! Then, if desired, add another layer.
THIS LIP COLOR DOES NOT WEAR OFF DURING THE DAY. It was on when I woke up at 8:00 a. m. Throughout the day, I ate, drank, licked my lips, and so on. Nothing has smudged, chipped, or worn away. I decided to test how long it would last, so I went to bed with the same application I'd applied at 8 a. m. It had only worn off on the inside of my mouth when I woke up the next morning. IS IT, HOWEVER, EASY TO REMOVE? So I reapplied it, let it dry, wore it for an hour or two, and then washed it off with micellar cleansing water and a q-tip. tip It was very easy to remove and left no residue. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DRY? I initially assumed it took too long to dry, but that is not the case; all you have to do is wipe the majority of the product off the side of the bottle before applying it, and then apply it in a few swipes. It'll still be completely opaque, so don't worry. DOES IT APPEAR TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION? Yep. I'm glad this doesn't have the same strange odor as my lash glue, which smells like a nursing home. It has a sweet, corn syrup-like odor that fades after it dries and will not irritate your nose. DOES IT APPEAR TO BE APPROPRIATE? Without a doubt. It dries matte, not dry or crackly, applies smoothly and opaquely, and is lip-friendly. It is not necessary to use a liner. You'll be the most kissable goth in town with this stuff. This is something I would strongly recommend. I've never used a better lipstick.
br>I've tried a lot of jeffree star and kvd liquid lips, and this one outperforms them both. After a while, it can become a little dry, but it's not too bad. It's also not susceptible to cracking.
{Tl; At the end of the review, there is a reference to a doctor. br>br>I'll preface this review by saying that I'm not a big fan of black lipstick and this is the first one I've ever purchased. br>While I'm partial to my classic, bold, bright red lipsticks, I'm always looking to add to my makeup collection. br>I also want my makeup to stay in place when I'm applying it. br>I don't want to have to keep my lipstick or gloss on me at all times and check myself in cars and mirrors. br>I want to put it in a box and forget about it. br>While this lipstick passes the transfer test (it doesn't smudge or transfer to skin, glasses, or straws), it splotches and smudges. br>But it's the TEXTURE that irritates me the most. br>It never completely dries out (even if you use a friggin' cold blow dryer on it!). It's shiny and has a sheen to it, which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't so sticky. br>It's as if your lips are physically adhering to each other. br>I believe it is a lofty goal for a long-term relationship. Although the long-lasting lipstick isn't drying, it's extremely uncomfortable due to the stickiness factor. br>Previously, I would use waterproof black liquid eyeliner to achieve black lips (which I do not recommend, lol). If black lipstick were my ride-or-die, I'd choose it every time. I'd give it a lower rating if I were you. It does what I need it to do, though I'm surprised it has such high ratings. br>I really like this brand's Superstay 24 hour formula, but this is nothing like it. br>It's (slightly) better than black eyeliner as lipstick, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're a fan of black lipstick, dislike sticky textures, and want a long-lasting black lip. br>But hey, we're all different. This has received positive feedback from those who use it; however, I am not one of them. Tl; br>br>Tl; br>br>Tl; br>br>Tl; Dr. : Relatively long-lasting and transfer-resistant, but it never fully dries and feels incredibly sticky and uncomfortable.
