When heated, it feels smooth and shiny initially, but after a few minutes it feels sticky like hairspray. What a great idea!.

The hairspray serves as a heat protectant. I guess you couldn't argue that just because it's also a protectant doesn't change the fact that it's a hairspray. After I curl my hair, it does have a "crunchy" feeling however, I am grateful that it covers the hair from heat really well after it is sprayed. The high heat I used to curl my hair did not damage it. Once heated up, even the crunchiness of it is not as bad as hairspray. I feel like I'm spraying hairspray lightly on my head. Although the curling iron had a good grip on my hair, I felt like it did not glide through my hair smoothly at all, and the heat took a long time to come up.
