Oh, and after that, I always color. I used to use the same brand of dye, as well.
It is about the same size as a box of hair dye.
I'd dyed my hair a dark brown color that was permanent. It turned it into a light brown color with red highlights. br>I just got my hair cut super short, and I'm not going to dye it again.
It's ready to use right away.

For the past 16 years, I've been dying my hair with black box color. Before deciding on Color Zap, I conducted extensive research into the gentlest products that could remove a million layers of black oxidized dye from my already delicate hair. I decided on Color Zap after reading all of the stench warnings for Color Oops and a few others. Yes, Color Zap smells like putting your nose in a bottle of ammonia and inhaling deeply (I wore a face mask to keep the fumes at bay). However, with just one application, it managed to turn all those zillions of layers of black dye into a deep red! I wasn't going for blonde or even a resemblance to a natural tone, so this was quite impressive. I wanted to do an ombré with black and burgundy! Now for the technical details. br>br> If your hair is long and thick, like mine (waist length), and you want to lift color from your entire head of hair in one pass, you'll need four boxes of this product. It doesn't come with a lot of product, which may be a problem for those looking to change their entire head of super long hair. Believe me when I say that two boxes were barely enough to treat the lower half of my hair as well as my bangs and fringe. It's also critical to use a bleaching/coloring mixing bowl to mix the solution. Brushing it on instead of pouring it on makes it much easier. You'll want to leave your hair color on for longer if it's darker. I left it on for about 90 minutes and got a decent result, so I used a gentle bleaching solution with conditioners and a 20 Volume Developer a couple of days later. My hair is now a medium red, with light ginger bangs. After thoroughly rinsing out the bleach, I applied an intensive repair mask to my hair, wrapped it in a plastic hair cover before bed, and left it in for a total of 7 hours; this helped a lot, and my hair now feels like it did before I started this whole process. br>br>When possible, research your options and learn how to use these products properly by watching videos and reading beauty blogs. Knowledge is the key to success. With that said, I'll always use Color Zap because it worked for me over a 16-year period on my 9,009 billion trillion layers of black dye. br>br>I hope this information is useful!.
I purchased this because I have had red hair on several occasions throughout the year, and the red tint does not fade with a brown box dye. It has the same appearance as bleached hair, but it is significantly less harmful. When I bleach my hair, the ends always get fried and break off, my hair looks and feels like straw, and my scalp gets burned. It didn't do any of those things with this. My scalp is extremely sensitive, and I've never been burned. It was, however, a little itchy. It did leave my hair slightly dry, as most hair products do. I didn't wash it for a few days after applying a brown dye to it. It was very soft and didn't tangle when I washed it. It was more comfortable than using a regular box dye on its own. If you're going blonde, this is the product to use. This should be used first, then bleached the next day before applying an ash-based toner or dye.
It's a very drying product that only slightly lightened the color. It's a misnomer to call something a "remover. " Sally's Beauty Supply has far superior products at a lower price.
I got rid of all of the purple.
When I used it three weeks ago, it left a rash on my arm, and the rash is still visible.
NOT TO BE USED. Unless you want your hair to be bleached and fried, of course.
Love.
