To make it "stick," one could use 10V developer, but don't take my word for it; ask your stylist. I doubt the manufacturers recommend it, but I would do it and have done it with other brands of demi permanent color. My hair is gray, white, and brown in color. It's porous not because of damage, but because of genetics. However, as I previously stated, I used 10V and demi permanent colors to open the cuticle.
There is no comb included with the Color Depositing Mask.
I'm not a hairstylist, just a user, so you might want to consult a color expert; if your hair is tinted, it might not turn the color you want. I recently had my hair dyed blue by a professional. Because I bleached it white before painting it blue, I was able to extend the color by using Moroccan blue. This product is fantastic; my hair looks and feels great, and the mask smells amazing. It's something I use every day and leave on for three minutes. The time limit is five minutes. Then I try to do a longer mask once a week. It's doing a fantastic job of retaining my color.
For about 5 minutes, I applied the copper color to my already reddish brown hair. I've also done jt for 3 minutes to reduce the amount of coloring.

My hair is dark blonde to light brown, with platinum blonde highlights and gray hair thrown in for good measure. This is absolutely fantastic. For a brief moment, it was a lot of fun. I knew I was breaking the rules when I left it on my hair for about 30 minutes. It had a pleasant scent and was soothing to the skin. My darker hair picked up a little color, but only on my highlighted hair; it didn't show up on my gray. It worked well together, and I was pleased with the outcome. On my hair, it was more of a lavender tint than a rose gold color. It was still one of my favorites. I'm thinking about getting some Hibiscus and mixing it in 50/50 with the other flowers. I was worried that it would stain my color-treated tresses. However, after six washes, it was completely gone. It faded evenly, and I had a lot of fun with it and received a lot of compliments.
My hair was a tad too lightly highlighted for my taste. I figured I'd try this product until I could get back in and tone down the highlights. br>br>I took a shower and washed my hair. I tried to get my hair as dry as possible, but it was still slightly damp. I divided my hair into four sections and applied product to each section, concentrating on the highlights. I combed my hair lightly and applied more mask where it was needed. I'm guessing I wore the mask for about ten minutes. I did a cool water rinse. br>br>It stained my hands, but that wasn't a big deal because my hair was the perfect shade. It has a pleasant scent. It had a faint shaving cream scent to it, but it wasn't overpowering. The hair is also very soft and silky.
Before I tried the mask, I was already a redhead, and it's AMAZING! I used to go DAYS without washing my red dyed hair because I was worried about color fade when I shampooed it. My head stank, my scalp itched, I had dry shampoo buildup, and the dandruff that came with it was horrendous. I can combat color fade and wash more frequently with this mask! Ladies, this is a game changer!.
The instructions were simple to follow and apply. After that, my hair felt nice and soft, and the color is lovely. On one application, I used about half of the bottle. The end result pleases me.
This is mostly what I like. My only gripe so far is that I had to use the entire bottle to get my long hair to work. This has a great conditioning component to it. I think this is the best mask I've ever used. I can't speak to the color's longevity because I only did it a few days ago and haven't washed my hair since. I'm hoping it doesn't last too long; the color is lovely, but it's a little too bold for me. Overall, if you want to try something new, this is the place to go!.
I've been using it for a few months and have noticed some advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
- My hair is silky, lustrous, and healthy. br>- In comparison to other brands or going to a salon for permanent color, it isn't prohibitively expensive. br>- When it comes to the rose gold color, it's stunning. br>br>Cons:
- It works on 80% of my lightened hair but doesn't show at all on my light blonde outgrowth/virgin hair at all at all at all at all at all at all at all% This color does not deposit well on virgin hair, despite the fact that my outgrowth and color-treated hair are now the same shade.
- Even with careful application, it does not lay down evenly. This doesn't bother me because the Rose Gold color appears to be multi-colored. (sort of) tonal highlights, but when I used the Hibiscus color, it just looked like a sloppy dye job.
- To get a decent amount of color, I have to use a LOT of it. I have thick collarbone-length hair, but I only get about 2 per day. Depending on the container, there are up to five full applications. Some of the samples I've received are extremely runny, while others are more like a regular conditioner. I also have to use this after every wash; you can't just use a regular conditioner instead. This necessitates almost continuous maintenance.
- Between washes, the color dries out. I try to avoid washing my hair as much as possible, but even when I don't use hot tools or get a lot of sun, this color fades a lot between washes. br>br>Overall, I don't think it's that bad because I continue to use it. My hair is a streaky rose gold at the ends, but it looks like a good ombre when it's wavy. I guess I have low standards, and I despise going to the salon on a regular basis and/or committing to a permanent color, so I'll just stick with this because it works.
I have bleached blond hair that is level 10 - After getting a bleach touch-up at the salon, I used this to add pink to my hair. Only the top half of my hair, from root to tip, was treated with it. It turned out darker than I expected (which is a good thing), so I'm glad I only did half of it. I'm really pleased with the results, and I'll probably experiment with other colors once the pink hibiscus fades. It was extremely simple to work with - Mixing is not allowed. One morning, I hurriedly completed it before taking a shower. For about ten minutes, I left it in. My hands were a little pink, but nothing like the manic panic hands I'd had in the past. I only used a small amount to saturate the hair, so this tube should last a long time.
The pieces it absorbed were blonde, thanks to a year-old process that's still growing out.
