It will definitely color your highlights, but it will not show up as brightly on your darker hair. My hair is similar to yours, and because my roots were mostly grown out and my natural brown, it almost looks like a cool purple ombré. I like the look, but it's not as noticeable on darker hair.
Yes, you can do it, and it works! If your hair is medium to light blonde, the vibrant purple WILL turn it purple. I've used it to extend a salon purple dye job as well as to simply dye my blonde hair purple when I couldn't get back to the salon. I hope this has been of assistance.
It's only long enough to use a regular shampoo. It appears that shampooing it twice and combing it through the hair will enhance the effect.

My natural hair color is strawberry blonde. As you may be aware, red fades with age, and mine had become noticeably lighter in recent years. I refused to dye my hair, so I began researching shampoos. I came across this one and ordered it in Tourmaline, and OMG, I am in love with it! It's the ideal shade for a natural redhead; it just makes it more vibrant and bright, without looking fake. It's a true orange/copper color, similar to how I used to dress when I was younger. I think it's lovely and shiny, and I'll keep using it indefinitely.
I'm amazed at how well it works! This is (I believe) my first review of a product I've purchased, but it's so fantastic that I felt compelled to do so! It has undoubtedly saved me a significant amount of money on salon visits (which I am far too lazy to do anyway). You can see how well it worked for me by looking at the pictures. The photo on the bottom right is from April, when I first went to the salon to have my hair colored. The photo on the left (with the product) was taken in May, while the photo on the right was taken just a week ago. I haven't been to the salon since April, and I've only used ONE BOTTLE of Extreme Purple Colorwash in that time! My hair looks just as good (if not better, thanks to the Colorwash shampoo, which has added extra purple to my non-purple hair) as it did before. as it was the day I had it professionally colored (bleached brown roots and created beautiful purple highlights). br>br>I use this product on a regular basis. I use it three times a week (the purple fades a little if I only use it once a week, but it's not bad) and just enough to make a nice lather. I leave it on for about 5 minutes, or as long as it takes to shave my legs, and then rinse it off with cool water. I use warm/lukewarm water (I take super hot showers, so it's probably more like warm/lukewarm water) and then apply my regular conditioner. My hair is super soft and unaffected, just like it would have been if I had used my regular shampoo. br>br>While the shampoo does not stain my skin, it does leave a purple stain in the tub that is easily removed using vinegar and a washcloth. br>br>Anyway, the point is that I am blown away by this shampoo and am completely enamored with it.
SILVER. My natural grey/silver hair is being grown out, and the lengths have been bleached light blonde with an unappealing yellow tinge. I tried a lot of toners, purple shampoos, color rinses, and other products over the last year, but this was the only one that worked. My hair is now all the same color, and I'm no longer yellow. br>The first time I used it, I applied it to wet hair but only on the bleached sections and left it on for a few minutes. There isn't much of a distinction to be made. However, after the second time, yellow is no longer welcome. Oh, the second time I used it, I applied it to dry hair and only applied it to the bleached areas, leaving it on for about 3 or 4 minutes. br>Also, because a little goes a long way, it's the best product I've found and will last me a long time, despite its high price.

Many hair colors, such as this one, state that they are incompatible with gray hair. Some don't, but this is a fantastic solution! I can do a quick shampoo to get a hint of color, or I can let it sit for a few minutes to get a deeper color like in the photo. I wash my hair twice a week and this photo was taken during Thanksgiving. It was nearly back to white by Christmas, with the exception of a violet'sheen' in the right light. I like the way the color fades away in a subtle way. I'd like to experiment with a different color.
I stopped coloring my salt and pepper hair this summer when it started to look mostly silver. For my turning-over hair, my stylist gave me a travel bottle of this shampoo and its companion conditioner. For Christmas, I have silver hair. Oh. My. God. I wondered how I ever got by without it after the first time I used it. This product almost whitens my silvers and removes the brassy tones from the rest of my darker hair. I sincerely hope they continue to produce it!.
This color was created by combining 2 parts pastel pink shampoo with 1 part hot pink shampoo. In the shower, apply it and leave it to sit for 30 minutes. This product is fantastic; it's simple to use, produces fantastic results, and fades back to the blonde I had before using the shampoo.
Pros: HAIR DYE is what we're talking about here. It really does deposit color on your hair, and it's a big step up from the dye-based options. fade- cycle of dyeing br>br>To get the perfect color, I mix it with another shade of Gem Lines. Unless your hair is platinum white, you should get a shade lighter Gem Lites shampoo than you think you need (or, like me, get both and blend them). All of their color swatches are done on light-colored hair. My hair is an orange/red color that looks natural. My hair gradually darkens when I use the Fire Opal every other wash. The difference is very noticeable by the end of a month or so. Simply put, it's too dim. (And this is in addition to the recommended Shine Wash from the same company. ) My solution is as follows: br>br> Purchase this shade (Fire Opal), as well as the lighter shade (Gem Lites Tourmaline) and their Shine Wash. Put them all in separate travel-size pump bottles from Bed Bath and Beyond. Use a combination of Shine Wash and the two colors to match your shade for each shampoo. Controlling the amounts is simple with the pump bottles. 3/4 Tourmaline and 1/4 Fire Opal make up the colored component of my mix. I find it easier to do this than to alternate and remember which shampoo I used last time; if my color fades, I'll use the colored shampoos only as a finishing touch.
