Yes, there are 12 in a package, which means you'll need 6 pairs if you want to wear one on each foot.
Yes, they're made of a medium-firm foam. They're soft enough for that, but firm enough to do the job in my walking sneakers to keep my toes from rubbing together. I hope this information is useful.
They're very comfortable, but after a few hours, they compress to almost nothing, so I've started buying toe socks (liners) that are very thin and can be worn under compression socks. Between my toes, I had blisters.
These toe combs, as well as the company, are fantastic. They are already attached in fours. It is possible to clean them. As they wear out, you'll get more. They are not prone to slipping. I can't sing their praises loudly enough.

She claimed that PediFix has been unable to locate the foam required to manufacture their toe comb cushions, and that they have been out of stock for months. This Amazon-sold PediFix product is far inferior to the real thing.
They're complete garbage! For the past ten years, I've been purchasing these toe separators (top photo is more than a year old) and have never had a problem. The new ones are a complete failure. The material is like tissue paper, and even the tiniest tug tears it apart (bottom photo). It irritates me a lot!.
These had to be returned because the foam on both ends had broken due to the low quality of the foam. Others do not have this issue, and the difference in foam used can be seen. The good ones have thicker, closer-cell foam that does not break apart as easily as these.
These are the shoes that I wear. They don't separate your toes as well as the gel version, but since the gel version won't fit inside your shoes, these are a good substitute. A pair of these can mean the difference between having painful feet after a few hours of walking and being able to keep walking without pain for a few dollars. br>br>Only drawback is that they tend to get lost in the laundry and fall apart if you pull on them too hard, especially after several washes. (I wash mine in the washing machine, which could be contributing to the issue. ) ) As a result, I usually have to replace them every six months or so. At this price, however, it's a simple task.
We've been using this excellent product for a long time and are familiar with its capabilities. The foam in our package, on the other hand, appears to be old and breaks down prematurely. The packaging's copyright expires in 2015, so these cushions appear to be old and low-quality.
This item has been redesigned with a delicate foam that easily tears. Although the new foam is slightly stiffer, this is a good thing, the previous version could be washed multiple times. With the new material, it will quickly end up in the landfill. The seller will make more money. Consumers and the environment both suffer as a result of this practice. I've been using this product for years after my podiatrist recommended it, and it used to be a good product, but now it's garbage.
So imagine my surprise when I received ones made of a less expensive, less durable material in my most recent order. I used to be able to wash them by hand and get four or five uses out of them. I'm lucky if I get two times with this new material. When I take them off after the first day, the majority of them tear. Please reintroduce the previously mentioned materials.
I've been using the Pedifix Comb Toe Separators to help with neuroma pain for years. WARNING: This product has undergone some changes. The foam isn't the same; it appears to be made of a lower-cost material, and it's not nearly as effective as the original. With these, my neuroma pain returned in full force. I saved a few of the old ones and switched back as soon as I could. The discomfort was no longer present.
