It is preferable to not have it. It's a waste of money, and the price they're asking for is ridiculous. There are better options available.

This item was not purchased. Putting something between the baby and the car seat, however, is NOT SAFE. It may cause your child to be ejected from the car seat because it does not fit properly.

We have a Noggle, but it isn't enough to keep up with the competition. Putting this in his seat while we're out playing at the park, etc. ensures that when we return, his seat will be cool (sometimes even cold). It's only been used twice so far. It's been very cold and frozen for three hours straight. I am blown away!.
