Please hear me out. I'm a big fan of these baby monitors. They're incredibly loud, clear, and sensitive, and both the parent and child packs come with battery options. Both come with charging cables, but it only has one outlet port, so I'll have to purchase another (not a big deal, just inconvenient). I imagine my daughter taking in the darkness that is napping to Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence as one of the many songs it plays, which was strange and funny at the same time. It makes me laugh on a regular basis. I was ecstatic to discover that this is by far the best audio monitor I've ever used. I got the penguin one with the temperature monitor, which has come in handy because my daughter's room is constantly changing. My only complaint is that when the temperature is too low or too high, the monitor should beep every 30 seconds, but mine only beeps once. Aside from that, I am a fan. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> After using it for a few weeks, I can honestly say that this is the best baby monitor I've ever used. This thing has a lot of range, is crystal clear with sound, and is super sensitive. I was hesitant to get an audio-only monitor because they usually don't work well, but this thing, especially the temperature display, puts me at ease. I like how the audio turns off when there is no movement (such as when she is sleeping), but turns back on as soon as it detects movement. When my baby wakes up, she doesn't cry; instead, she mostly talks to herself, and this device picks her up beautifully. I'm serious. I promise you will not be disappointed if you purchase this monitor. After having it for a while, I upgraded it from 4 to 5 stars. This is fantastic.

I bought this monitor three months ago, right before my daughter was born, but I only started using it on a daily basis a few weeks ago when I started getting my baby on a more regular schedule. I was picky because I wanted a monitor that had the room temperature on it so I could be sure that my daughter was sleeping safely and not overheating. This was a fantastic monitor. I like the cute owl (I think it's a penguin), the music is cute but a little loud, and the night light is nice. I really like the walkie talkie feature because it allows me to communicate with my husband without having to shout if I need something. It also has a decent sound quality and range. The temperature gauge, on the other hand, has been acting strangely over the last few days. My house is around 73 degrees Fahrenheit, as you can see in the photos. It's 109, 103, and 111, according to the monitor. All of this happened in less than a minute. The room it's measuring has an ac unit in it that's set to 68 degrees and runs for the majority of the day (only shutting off when the temperature drops below 68), so it's definitely not that hot! I liked this monitor at first, but now I wish I had just bought a regular monitor and spent the extra $40 on a good room thermometer. I wanted a monitor for when we go camping, but it's nearly impossible to find one that has both battery and power options. The reception is excellent, and the sound is crystal clear. It's great that it displays the temperature in the baby's room, and the temperature range is excellent. What I don't like is that the light on the parent unit can't be dimmed. When it is activated by a noise late at night, the blue light is very bright and illuminates the entire room. In addition, the parent unit's rechargeable battery does not last very long.

We've had a plug-in for quite some time now. Our daughter, who is now three years old and has autism, has been using an in style baby monitor for a while. verbal. We put the batteries in the baby unit because we need to keep it away from her— she likes to crawl under her bed and chew on the monitor, so we bought this so we could hang it up where she couldn't reach it. I'm not interested in the minor issues that everyone seems to bring up on this forum. So far, everything has worked, and I will replace or recharge the batteries as needed. It's a crystal-clear sound. The temperature is very close to what it should be. I'm hoping it lasts a long time, as the batteries are only good for about 6 hours. We solved the problem by plugging in a power bank (which we already had, I believe it was around $9 at Walmart) that stayed charged all night. In terms of the additional power adapter for the chord, any power adapter you can get or currently use for cell phones will suffice. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.

I really want to like these because they have such a cute style to them! But, in the few days that I've had it, I've noticed that when fully charged, the battery doesn't last very long (which is usually fine, but I bought battery ones for a reason-- I didn't want it to be plugged in all the time, but that's not the case; I assumed battery-operated devices would last longer, but I guess rechargeable batteries aren't the same as regular batteries? ) There was also a time when the receiver wouldn't turn on for some reason even though it was fully charged, but after I gave it a few minutes and tried again, it turned on. Another thing it does is go silent and then randomly start sounding again, which could be some kind of feature I'm unaware of. (We play music at a high volume in our children's rooms all the time, so it should detect noise all of the time. ) Also, the night light cannot be turned off. So I'm really excited about these, and I'm going to give them a month to see how they work out before returning or exchanging them in case I received a dud! I'll keep you updated! I'd keep it and deal with it if they were cheaper, but I don't think it's worth $40! Perhaps around $20-$30. 25 max.
