Questions & Answers

Can you tell me how thick the padding is? There is a gap between the door and the frame that I am not sure about. My sincere thanks go out to ?

I really like how thick it is. You won't be able to use it if your doors don't have a larger gap between them. At our house, it didn't work for any of the doors.

Compared to other styles, are some styles less stretchy? The Charlotte Gray was able to be installed on the door despite having horizontal handles. What if Scout won't expand?

You must - if you have not already done so If you are having trouble attaching the Cushy Closer, try lowering both door handles at once. By doing so, we can keep the bands from stretching

The product is thick enough to prevent finger pinch injuries, is it not?

There is no way to stop little fingers from getting squished with that. By preventing the door from latching, it prevents the door from being locked. Then, you can check in on your child without making the dreaded door click, making it even easier to stealthily check on them.

Can anyone tell me if they've been used in college dormitories?

Uncertain why you might want to do so? It's not advised with this on since the door won't latch, so unless it's a free open season for any room, I wouldn't recommend

It is too thick, but it is You'll need a gap between your door and the frame if there is no gap, or this will be too thick The alternative I tried did not look like what I wanted, so I cut it open and removed some padding to make it work
5/5

There is no danger of the cut being discovered, and the door now closes properly.
After more than a month of rubbing on the strike plate, there are signs of wear, so I suspect I will need to replace it within the next The purchase was a good one overall.

I like how it works
5/5

As far as functionality is concerned, this is one of those items that does exactly what it ought to. A friend of mine who is pregnant requested one of these for her house so that the teenagers wouldn't slam their doors. It worked so well that I got it for her. There is still a "thunk" noise when the teenagers fight, but if I approached as an adult and left a baby's room with the same dexterity and intent, it would be silenced. The one thing I regret not having when my children were little is I wish I'd had one of these. There is quite a bit of stitching on the closer, and it should last for an extended period of time. The patterns are fairly subtle and won't clash in any way with stuff, but they're bright enough that you can see from a distance if it's there. Likewise, I especially like that you can detach one end from the cushion and leave the other end dangling when you want to "disengage" it. In that case, it will still be right where it needs to be the next time you need.

A lot of people find it helpful
5/5

In our new home, we just moved into the baby's room. Without a doubt, that door was the most annoying we have ever seen. don't know if it had to do with the fact there was fresh paint on the door and doorframe (even though it was already dried), but whenever I opened or closed it there would be a weird almost squeaking noise. I like the sound of it. Would the paint stick together as if it were glue? There is no other way to describe it, but I don't think that I should go in there to check on the baby if it was loud enough. When I first bought this, I was hoping it would fix our problem, but it actually worked for the first few nights! All of a sudden, the door suddenly would not close all of the way. The light shining in his room caused him to wake up constantly for the first night, which is why I went back to look here for advice about cutting into the mattress to remove the padding. Once I did that, he was no longer able to wake up. I did not complain about it. It looks a little ugly now, but if I get to sleep through the night while he is happily sleeping, that's all I care about. I think this is an ingenious.

Helped us resolve our issue, but not in our case
3/5

We have a door that "clicks" in our room that belongs to my daughter, so I wanted to get this to solve that problem. Frequently, my door pops open as if it is too thick and it pushes itself out, regardless of how old our doors are. I am not sure whether or not this is due to the fact that our doors are nearly 100 years old. Now that we have used it for a week, it still makes the same annoying noise when we twist the handle and the latch creaks. I have also been able to push my dog and cats through the door, so this item will be returned. What I find most disappointing about the dress is how thick and rigid the fabric is, and how the elastic stretches out too quickly.

It is great for knobs that have a circular shape For L handles, it might be preferable to use a different approach
4/5

These are several of the things I own. The insulation dampens the sound of the door opening and closing when they are used on round knobs. The latch is also designed to prevent the door from latching onto the wall, so it's easy for my child to go out by pulling or pushing the door. You don't need to have a problem with toddlers exploring outside their room, but you need to be okay with it. The L handle design would have been better if it had a cord wrapped around it (perhaps to tie the handle securely? Are you thinking of cords with buttons on them? Hotel bathroom doors are notoriously noisy, and I always bring one along when I travel, but it is often hard to fit the handle around them.

I am so grateful that I came across it! In our house, we have four kids (7 yrs
5/5

and younger) sharing three bedrooms close to each other. A majority of the time, my 5 year old daughter gets up at night to use the bathroom. While I am happy that he does this on his own, I also am thankful that he does not know his own strength, as he tends to slam the doors, which awakens everyone else as well. Finding a buffer was a challenge. This was what I found. You are amazing, my friend! The doors will no longer be slammed. There is no more clicking of the door since it closes snugly but does not are cheaper and thinner brands (that I also purchased at the same time), but I had to double the price of the thinner ones to get the same effect. This one is by far my favorite and I am so thankful.

As far as I'm concerned, this product fell short (at least for me)
4/5

It's a product I really like in theory, however there are some drawbacks In practice, this means As far as my needs are concerned, it didn't meet them. This product did actually solve my problem in that when positioned to cover the door latch, it prevented our exterior door from automatically locking as soon as it shut. I have yet to find a product that can be used for those back doors that lock automatically as soon as they shut. In my assessment, where this product failed to meet my expectations was the fact that after repeatedly stretching the elastic around the door knob, said elastic frayed and broke (about a dozen or so use). You should keep in mind that this product might not have been intended for repeated removal from the door knob. It does perform extremely well when it is intended to be used as a silencing device while a door is closing. One drawback seems to be that the elastic does not hold up to being repeatedly placed on and removed from a door knob (or at least the door knob.

Is there a way I didn't know about these earlier? It is amazing how clever these are
5/5

It is simple to use, does not slip, and is easy to clean They're hard to knock off, and most importantly, they're effective! In our old house with three children, we are always hearing the slamming and banging of doors. The time when my daughter is napping has been made with this. When a hallway door used to close, I would cringe and hold my breath, but since it's completely muffled now, I don't even notice it. Those are my favorite.
