It is superior to other brands on the market! This toilet seat is an excellent choice for families with small children (and small bathrooms)
4/5

The built-in child safety features are fantastic. We don't need a separate potty chair for small children because of the sized toilet seat. Both seats have a comfortable shape that makes them suitable for both adults and children. The soft- The seats/lid close feature is slow, but it is a useful feature (it prevents a lot of toilet seat slamming). The only thing I don't like about this seat is how small it is on the toilet bowl compared to my previous one. This makes the seat less comfortable for larger adults (and it doesn't look as nice as my old seat, which covered the entire bowl). Since installing these seats on all of my toilets, several friends with small children have inquired about and purchased them as well! Overall, I would recommend this product because it is a high-quality seat, especially when compared to other similar seats on the market. Please give me a thumbs up if you found my review useful. Thank you a lot!.

It's acceptable, but not outstanding
3/5

This seat served us well for two years because our house is small and the integrated potty seat is extremely useful. After a year, every time my daughter slid down the toddler seat, it would completely fall apart, and I'd have to rush in to help snap it back together. After another year, it's finally over. A replacement is urgently required! I chose this seat after trying three others that were similar for the following reasons: The first one fit perfectly, was sturdy but not overly so (aesthetics), and had a slow-close lid! However, after installing the new seat, I quickly realized that the hardware is different, and that no matter how tight we tighten it, the seat continues to move around a lot. It was a huge letdown. br>In the end, I chose a different option that is NOT slow-closing but has extremely heavy-duty, full-chrome hardware. It's also a fantastically snug fit! In addition, the toddler seat is much safer - It'll never be as successful as this. Indeed, out of all the ones we tried, this was the best. When it came to attachment to the regular seat, this seat was the worst. For a short time, it was a good seat; the second time around, not so much! It's not even close to being worth the money!.

After cleaning, the seat has become discolored
3/5

The seat appeared to be in good condition until it developed a purple discoloration after cleaning. It happened with Lysol spray first, and then with Clorox wipes again. I went back over the product description on Amazon and saw that it was suggested that I clean it with mild soap and water. Who has time to make a mild soap and water solution just to clean a toilet seat? br>br> I don't expect common household cleaning products to discolor a toilet seat that I paid more than $40 for! For years, I've used Lysol and Clorox products to clean toilet seats (and a variety of other surfaces), and this is the first time I've had an issue. This product has disappointed me greatly, and I wish I had just bought the Bemis toilet seat we have on our other toilet instead. br>br>Because the discoloration is hard to see in the photo, I circled the most noticeable area. For the record, the seat I bought was labeled as follows: MAYFAIR 188SLOW 000 NextStep2 Toilet Seat with Built-In Potty Training Seat, Slow-Discharge Close, ELONGATED, White, Removable that will Never Loosen.

The concept is fantastic, but the risks and sacrifices are difficult to justify
3/5

**FINAL THOUGHTS AT BOTTOM*
br>We REALLY wanted to love this, and I believe it is on its way to being great, but there are a few things that need to be addressed, and we would have loved to know not only what we were gaining, but also, and perhaps more importantly, what we had to sacrifice. br>br>The Bad (for kids): br>br>While the magnet latch system is innovative, it is also dangerous and counterintuitive; this seat was not designed with adults in mind (more on that later) and is most likely only something you buy to wean the littlest version of yourself off the diaper and onto a more comfortable and enjoyable ride. The rub is that the rugrat seat does not have a soft closing mechanism and is ALWAYS attached to the lid (assuming you use the lid). br>br>The magnet is strong, but toddlers aren't, so pulling down the kiddy portion and holding it and manually setting it down without slamming it or smashing digits takes some effort. SHOCKINGLY, this mag seat has resulted in smashed fingers, smashed heads and arms, and an overwhelming fear of using the restroom. He won't use the toilet unless "his" seat is already down, which was not our intention. br>br>The Bad (for grown-ups): br>br>I'd like to meet the engineer who designed this and find out if they used it, because sitting in the adult seat is uncomfortable, if not painful. If you don't use a toilet stool or have a high pain tolerance, this may be a non-issue. issue. If you have visitors, however, be prepared to give up your personal bathroom. Both seats are flat (to fit in a neat and tidy manner), but we would have preferred a thicker profile with an ergonomic design. br>br> The positive:

- It was simple to install, but because the lid (like most) has limited positioning capability, it may be difficult if you don't have a standard toilet.

- They use sturdy materials, the soft close works as it should, and the color is spot on. br>br>- If your children aren't too big, the child seat is ideal. Our 3t kiddo, who stands 4 feet tall and has a 3t waist, fits perfectly. It's more of a potty training seat in my opinion, which will need to be upgraded as he grows. . . which can't come soon enough. br>br>**FINAL THOUGHTS – AFTER WEEKS OF USE*
br>I removed the toilet lid, which, while not elegant, was unquestionably practical and solved some of the issues. We've had a little fun letting guests use the restroom and have discovered that it greatly expedites their process, which has resulted in complaints of numbed legs and bruised tushies. This, too, shall pass, and we look forward to the day when both of our children will be able to sit in an adult seat, or the next generation of child seats.

It works, but it isn't long-lasting or fits properly
3/5

It has the potential to be fantastic. This is our second one because the first scratched, didn't clean well, and the attachments broke after a year because it was so cheaply made. They don't seem to fit properly. And it's not just our toilet; a few kid's shops and play areas near us use them, and they all have the same problem. br>For the price, I would expect a much higher level of quality.
